- About My Library
Welcome to the University of Manitoba Social Work Students' Association (SWSA) textbook library. Books are available to read in the Social Work Student Lounge at 508 Tier Building, Fort Garry campus (to ensure all students have equal access to these textbooks, please do not remove books from the student lounge without permission). If you would like to borrow a textbook, please contact SWSA to make arrangements.
The SWSA textbook library exists to reduce financial barriers to education and promote equity among students. We recognize that the rising cost of textbooks disproportionately affects those from marginalized and low-income backgrounds, creating obstacles to full participation in learning. By offering free access to course materials, we aim to foster an inclusive academic environment grounded in principles of social justice, accessibility, and community care.
- About Me
The Social Work Students' Association (SWSA) is a feminist, undergraduate student association that values inclusivity, diversity, accessibility, and democratic-participatory decision-making. In acknowledgment of inequality, SWSA recognizes and supports social change initiatives that aim to reduce social, political, and environmental injustice. It is the intention of the Social Work Students' Association to support and advocate on behalf of all undergraduate Faculty of Social Work students through community building events, student advocacy, provision of relevant training opportunities, and representation on various student councils.
