About My Library

Wings of the North is an all-volunteer non-profit 501(c)3 educational organization founded in 1998 and based on Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Our mission is to preserve and present aviation history. Every summer we produce the premier aviation event in the Twin Cities area now called "AirFair", (formerly AirExpo.)

We have also acquired a collection of aviation books, VHS tapes, CD's and memorabilia that is housed in our museum along with beautifully restored George H.W. Bush Sr. Boeing Stearman N2S1, a Cessna O-1 Bird dog, (both Oshkosh Award winners). We have the hot air balloon that was launched during a MN Vikings half-time show in 1969 and the mockup of the "Spirit of St. Louis" that was made by Warner Bros. Studios for the 1957 film starring Jimmy Stuart.

Our hangar is home to a project to completely restore a 1943 Vultee BT15 “Valiant” World War II trainer to flying status this year. Other projects include a North American T-28 "Trojan", a Piper PA-12 "Super Cruiser", and a WACO "Taperwing" replica.

Volunteers for the projects are always welcome!
