About meEstablished in 1916, the AAC Library is the largest mountaineering library in the Western Hemisphere. 20,000 circulating books, 6,000 rare books, plus photographs, 16mm film, lantern slides, manuscripts, diaries, scrapbooks, climbing gear - all of it documenting mountain environments and activities.

About my libraryThe library is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday. American Alpine Club, Colorado Mountain Club and Friends of the Library members can check out books and dvds in person or by mail. The library staff is available to answer reference questions by email and in person.
