gripping (1), Quite a departure from theme and in some ways (1), Ok.... a bit rambling. As with Disgrace (1), Superb. No other way of describing it really. Everyone should read this. (1), Faulks at his gritty best. Harrowing. (1), One of Australia's finest pieces of litereature. Outstanding. I cannot sing the praises of this novel enough. (1), This book is both fantasic and average in points. It made me feel like i needed a shower after; at times (1), Simply a beautiful piece of writing. Amazing. (1), Required reading for anyone who even thinks of writing themselves (1), or thinks they're a fan of literature. (1), a slowly revealing plot and narrative. Beautifully controlled. (1), The film is amazing. This is ok.... a bit like Robert Ludlum if you're into that sort of thing. (1), Simply one of the best Fantasy/Sci-Fi books I've ever read. Couldn't put it down. (1), wonderfully written. It's a pity her second was so.... not even close. (1), Easy read. Brilliantly written (1), but reasonably enjoyable. (1), Fasntastic book. Intelligent (1), Average... at best. (1), One of my favourite books. (1), overly morbid. (1), and amazing stark imagery. (1), Spooky; a brilliant debut. (1), Brilliant Sci-Fi and social commentary. (1), Incredible. (1), Tend to be a little meandering (1), Childhood coming of age story (1), Ok - a bit ponderous. (1), Meandering (1), contrite and self indulgant. (1), Atwood's debut. Harrowing and humerous in one book (1), a fascinating look at the pressures faced by women in 1965 Toronto - and even today. (1), Superb. She's a fascinating writer. (1), the middle-aged/pensioner male narrative figure is slightly self obsessed with a tendency to lack empathy. It's interesting and occaisionally confronting as it broaches aspects of human behaviour and thought which are a little disturbing. The surreal myst (1)
