About My Library: This is the library of Serge Pahaut who generously donated it to the Laboratory for Radical Peace.

Serge Pahaut is a mythologist, anthropologist, socio-linguist, musicologist, semiologist, mathematician... dedicated to the work of Claude Lévi-Strauss. He spent his life at ULB (University of Brussels), within the research unit of Ilya Prigogine, Nobel Prize in Chemistry and Physics, and with whom he developed various projects, linking art and science, science and nature. This incredible fund of books, which was about to be destroyed (for the lack of other solutions), Pahaut decided to donate to the PhD In One Night / Laboratory for Radical Peace @ Les Orangeries de Bierbais, and the La Nacelle Foundation. Now we are privileged to be in front of a small treasure, which will eventually become a public collection of rare and precious books, with the idea of presenting some of the books from the fond by Serge Pahaut himself. Future digitalisation of certain books from the Serge Pahaut book fund is also planned.

Serge Pahaut est mythologue, anthropologue, sociolinguiste, musicologue mélomane, sémiologue, linguiste, mathématicien... Spécialiste du travail de Claude Lévi-Strauss, il a passé sa vie à l'ULB, dans la cellule de recherche du Pr. Ilya Prigogine, prix Nobel de physique-chimie. Il a développé avec lui des projets divers, alliant art et science, ainsi que science et nature. Sa vie durant, il a accumulé un très riche fonds de livres dans son appartement. Cette incroyable bibliothèque a pourtant failli finir à la décharge, faute d’une solution lors de son dernier déménagement. Mais PhD In One Night / Laboratoire pour la Paix Radicale @ Les Orangeries des Bierbais, et la Fondation La Nacelle, ont réussi à sauver ce petit trésor. Il pourra ainsi non seulement devenir un fonds public de livres rares, mais également servir pour la présentation de certains ouvrages importants, par Serge Pahaut. La digitalisation future de ce fonds est aussi à l'étude.
