About My Library
My library began with my Bible, a borrowed copy of Nave's Topical Bible and Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Bible. It grew while I was in college studying Bible. I tried expanding it with a number of Oliver B. Greene commentaries. I respect Greene and how the Lord has used his ministry, but I soon realized that these commentaries were not adequate. I soon resold them and purchased a few other recycled volumes (a greek lexicon and F.F. Bruce on the Pauline Epistles). About a year after graduation I came accross a fellow selling his entire library on ebay. He lived about and hour and a half away, so I found a friend to go in with me on the purchase and we travelled to this man's house to see what he was offering. To our amazement he had 48 large boxes neatly and completely packed with some of the best volumes you can find on their respective subjects. We were floored and the price was a "steal". He wanted more than anything to pass the library along to someone who could use it with profit. He had offered it to two local churches but was refused (they didn't know what to do with the books.???) Anyway, the Lord allowed us to pull together the money and we purchased about 3000 books. He took about 500 and I took about 700+. I felt that I had to sell a good many of them so that I could pay back what I had borrowed. We sold many excellent volumes, but were able to keep many too. I'm extemely greatful for the Lord's provision. I frequent used book stores and antique malls looking for deals on theological books. I would love to stumble on another great find like this. I am now over 1500 volumes.
About Me
I am an Inside Sales Manager for a local power transmission distributor. I have been in this industry since I graduated from college. What I really enjoy is my family and church ministry. We are actively involved in our local church serving the Lord. My wife helps with the special music and I am a SS teacher. I also fill the pulpit for our pastor when he is out of town. Twice a week we have the privilege of ministering at local assisted living homes in the area. This affords us more opportunities to preach the Gospel.
