- About My Library
- Historically, I've always been a devourer of non-fiction, in the vein of memoirs and autobiographies. When stories emerge from tragedy or opposition I find those types of stripes to speak the loudest. As I say, "People seem to hear our tales of walking through a bed of roses more clearly when they hear how we had to walk through a bed of cactus first." For fiction, I'm admittedly a staunch critic because I like stories that are actually about something with realistic dialogue to make the plot ring a message.
That said, some of my favorite non-fiction titles: All Souls: A Family Story from Southie; Raising Fences; Brain Surgeon; Crazy; All God's Children; Genie: A Scientific Tragedy; As Nature Made Him; Gang Leader for a Day, and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Among my adored fiction titles: To Kill a Mockingbird; The Help and Love, Water, Memory and Pickle (a favorite novel from my childhood). - About Me
I'm a lover of words in every way imaginable. As an author, novelist, poet, and short story writer, I'm most at home crafting prose and stories. Creatively, I write about the complexities and beauties of life through my eyes and the eyes of the countless tales I've gleaned from others. My personal library consists of books celebrating the same: ordinary/extraordinary experiences tucked into those surrounding us every day. What I love most about the written word is that it will live long past the person who penned them.- Location
