- Loved this book and its female perspective of the war. (1), I have mixed emotions about this book. On one hand I loved it on the other I wish that somethings weren't resolved. Many layers to this story. (1), Wow! A powerful book. (1), I enjoyed this story and how it slowly unraveled. The various interviews at the end of each chapter by other small characters in the story was brilliant. I enjoyed the subtle hints and at times crazy viewpoints of the other parents in the class. Some part (1), I don't often enjoy the movie as much as the book (1), but I absolutely adored both the book and the movie. Well written love story and the characters personalities were perfect! (1), Read this book slowly and enjoy the words that Backman has written. (1), This book was mysterious without being too violent or gruesome. I liked Kittens short chapters that alternated with Meg's story. I'll be looking for more stories from this author!! (1), A great Middle Grade book! I know many teachers at my school are using it for a read a loud. Great to have the tree's perspective as the narrator in this book. (1)
