- The books in this library thing list are not part of the inventory of our shop. They are my personal books, which fall into several categories: books related to general humanism, with 20th century literature (more European than American), philosophy through the ages, and ancient, primitive and medieval art; reference books related to the history of food, the history of the book, publishing history, bibliographies in various fields; and books on food and drink in our own kitchen library.

- I'm an antiquarian bookseller, who once sold works of 20th century cultural history, art, philosophy, social theory, and various movements, such as dada, futurism, conceptual art. etc. But after moving to Maine in 2004, I switched my bookselling to focus on food and drink. My business, Rabelais: Fine Books on Food & Drink, is recognized as a premier sources for rare and hard to find cookery books. My wife and I live on a small farm in Maine.
