I like to read to lose myself. I do not like to analyze the writing style or word choice. Reading is recreation to me and I would hate to ruin it by thinking too much.

When I find a book (or series of books) that I really enjoy I tend to consume everything thing I can find relating to it. Once I've done that I go through withdrawal and search for my next fix.

I much prefer fiction to non-fiction.

I hate hate hate sad stories. I guess I am too empathetic to enjoy those kinds of books.

I enjoy fantasy, sci-fi, history, mysteries, thrillers, as well as any combination of the aforementioned genres.

I read to my 5-year old daughter every day. She enjoys mysteries, fantasy, sciences (human and animal biology and physiology), and anything with a shiny cover. :-) It gives me an excuse to read books I normally wouldn't.
