About My Library
Most philosophers do not see a positive role for desert as a concept in moral philosophy, and many see it as purely a cipher for other concepts. This collection of books includes some general philosophical discussions of desert, as well as some social welfare policy treatments of desert or at least of related concepts of responsibility, conditionality and mutualism.
About Me
I am interested in philosophical concepts of desert and deservingness, and their increasing use in social welfare (particularly UK social housing) despite negative Victorian associations. I took an MA course in Ethics and Social Welfare at Keele University, for which I wrote a dissertation on desert in social housing.
