- My library is a combination of what I own, either on my shelves, audiobooks or my laptop and what I have read or referenced recently. My reason for including some borrowed materials is that it helps me to remember what I have read and in some cases books that I want to get my own copy of.
Book ratings - each fiction book is rated on the following elements:
Entertainment, enjoyability
Complexity- plot, setting, details, language
Character development
Writing style
5 = Fantastic "keeper". Tops in all categories, couldn't put it down, Desert Island Book.
4 = Very good overall, well worth re-reading.
3 = Readable, moderately enjoyable, one or two elements not well done or patchy. Recommended to fans of the author/genre, just passable.
2 = Poor. Forced my way through, or finished but not without some effort. Major deficits in two or more elements. Not recommended unless you're a die-hard fan of the author or genre.
