I only keep copies of things I truly, truly love. My rule is that I can only get my own if it's the second reading. Otherwise, I go with books from the public library.

I'm San Francisco based but I was raised in Texas and New Mexico. Plus, I spent a decade in New York. Those ten years of riding the subway were easily the equivalent of my undergraduate degree in terms of books read.
