Nitin is an educator and writer. Nitin published his first book, a collection of short stories, Shopping for Sabzi (TSAR) in 2008. Poignant and humorous, the stories describe the jockeying for social status, career fulfillment, the search for love and personal meaning. Nitin's writing has appeared in Anokhi, Existere, South Asian Review, among others and he has given readings throughout Canada, the US, and India. Currently, Nitin is editing his first novel, a satire featuring real agents, spiritual gurus, and a splash of local politics.

He holds a BA from McGill University and a PhD in Anthropology from Rice University. After a stint in advertising in New York, Nitin returned to Toronto, his home town. He currently teaches at the University of Guelph- Humber. He recently completed a research project that explored how young men and women perceive education and success in a volatile economy.
