It's huge! I buy a lot of books for work, so I have probably a couple of thousand volumes on (for instance) the English Civil War, the Wars of the Roses, Anglo-Saxon England and early 18th century London. As for fiction, if I like a book I know I'll want to read it again some time, so I keep it - I must have several hundred. Most of them are historical, but there's also crime, science fiction, fantasy, a few modern novels, a few classics. I'm trying to replace my favourite paperbacks with hardbacks, but it's a long and sometimes expensive task to track them all down - still, the thrill of the chase lures me on!

I'm a woman of a certain age, living in Wiltshire, UK. My day job is in a small village library: by night, or on days off, I write books under my maiden name of Pamela Belle. I have a husband, Steve, and two sons, Hugh at Swansea University, Patrick about to leave home: two Irish Water Spaniels called Rowan and Grace, mother and daughter: and a feisty old Burmese cat, Cassie, and her son Zaphod and daughter Aphra. I like reading (of course), writing, art, photography, pottery, walking, the countryside, history and archaeology and socialising with family and friends.
