I read according to my mood, so I'm often reading three books at a time. I go back and forth between Kindle and physical books depending on where I'm reading. I never listen to audio books because I'm easily distracted. I love both fiction and non-fiction. Historical fiction, general fiction, women's fiction, you name it! I love to read about travel, psychology/sociology, memoirs, biographies. I love reading about the White House and the lives of presidents. I don't typically like classics, but there are definite exceptions. Steinbeck is one of my favorite authors. Villette was one of my favorite books.

A few years ago, I discovered that I love to read about food and famous chefs.

There are a few authors that have been popular for a long time that I have just discovered this year. In 2024, I read my first Emily Henry (and have since read all her books), my first (and second) Colleen Hoover, my first Elin Hildebrand, and my first Kristin Hannah. I've never read James Patterson.

My bookshelves are organized by spine color. Every year I build a Christmas tree using green-spined hard cover books. Books are not just to be read in my house; some of the more beautiful covers become shelf decor.

I love animals, especially dogs. My dog is kind of a jerk, but I love her anyway. I'm in awe of the shuttle program and so sad that it has ended. I'm not a huge fan of sci-fi movies, but I watch them with my husband because I love him and I'm a good wife. I really prefer rom-coms, especially Hallmark this time of year with all the predictable Christmas movies. I love family and tradition and things you can count on to always be there. Predictability isn't boring; it's comforting. I am so lucky to still have my mom, who is 87 years old now. I love my tattoos, music, travel, food, short stories & essays, laughing, making people laugh, meeting new people, introverting, shoes, handbags, online shopping, and people-watching.
