- Range 8 refers to the eight level of RANGE READING that I have developed to organize children's literature. Range 3 is the level of books that are published as adult books, but would appeal to young adult readers (7th -10th grade). I have only listed those books that I think have merit to them (and not everything that I have read). Therefore, the five star system is a little different with a one star still representing a good title selection, but a five star rating is an outstanding book and one that I probably have bought for my own personal collection. This list was designed to help librarians and educator's find quality literature to share with young readers.
