- About My Library
- this library is a sample of my collection of books on history- as I worked on change management since 1990, I consider that knowing the past is the best investment you can do to avoid repeating it- or, at least, avoid wasting time re-inventing the same wheel and then trying to fix it
Walking on the shoulder of giants lets you see farther away
Caveat: I usually buy history books on purpose after browsing the book- my the purpose is not necessarily to read the book cover-to-cover, but to understand the context of events- reading or studying 100% sometimes can be postponed to when I find it appropriate (e.g. a 1400+ pages book was interesting when published- for few hundred pages here and there, but worth reading, for me, only this summer.. 17 years later!)
Last but not least, having history books allows you to have a place to look for details- therefore, if you are one of those who stores in his/her brain every date, name, place, but skips on the "why", probably your concept of use of history books (or definition- browse the catalogue) is not mine - Homepage
