I am a retired teacher with finally the time to read, read, read! I never catalogued my books over the many years I read. I have read a lot of classics and only recently started to read current authors which I am enjoying tremendously. I like rather straightforward stories character driven. Not very interested in dystopian literature. I am attempting to catalog my books going forward. As for the past I am adding books as I recall them. Of course there are a large number of male authors in my catalogue. I have recently become more intrigued by female authors and we can credit Elena Ferrante for pushing me in this direction. I am not saying I will only exclusively read females but feeling like there are some brilliant women out there and I want to catch up with them. If I like an author, I try to read much or all of their writing. Sometimes I feel at a loss when I finish an author: [Sally Rooney] [Elizabeth Straut] [Rachel Cusk], [Ali Smitj] But am finding great suggestions here with you like minded reading souls. Keep on reading!

Retired teacher of high school deaf and hard of hearing students. I taught mostly English though I am also certified in math. I loved teaching books like to kill a mockingbird, the great gatsby, the crucible, Romeo and Juliet, hamlet, the odyssey, 12 angry men, the house on mango street and many more. And of course Poetry by Langston Hughes and letter from a Birmingham jail were a privilege to teach! Poe was scary and fun with visits to his house here in Philly. I love to discuss books so am hoping to do that here.
