My library trends toward outdoor subject matter as reference, reflecting my interest in birdwatching, back road travel, gun collecting (not a hunter). Favorite authors include Willa Cather, Jan Karon (The Mitford Series), F. Scott Fitzgerald, Harper Lee, Rosamunde Pilcher, poet Billy Collins.Read in the non-fiction areas of American folk art, primitive and outsider art, sporting Americana.

I write "feel good" works set along the back roads of Pennsylvania where I was raised. Country life and living are of interest as are family farms and rural concerns. I am a former farm magazine editor and livestock photographer. My wife and I live in the Bitterroot Valley of western Montana. We have four sons and two grandchildren. The first in my Summers Run: An American Boyhood series was published in 2009. Its sequel, Return to Summers Run, is scheduled for publication in the spring of 2012. Both are available as e-books.Third in the series, The Boys of Summers Run, (c) 2014, has been published. It is available as an e-book for the Kindle platforms, other e-book platforms, and as a softcover currently through Amazon.com
