About My Library

This is an adventure into a wonderful world of magical fantasy, starring Oily Gasbag ,a rather dim , large, clumsy, grumpy, but very funny goblin who somehow manages to enter a dancing contest in a small village in England, with an Austrian witch called Frieda Hasbug, who has a rather nasty sister called Hattie. The story, which is the first of a series of six, features some really strange and daft folk, including Madame Popeen Propaire, a snobbish French faerie, who owns a fashion shop, four mischievous teenage witches, Caramel Cathy, Selinda Snakebite, Paula Prune and Natalie Nastie, who use dark magic and play naughty tricks, Oily’s best friend, Grizzelguts, his silly girlfriend, Scrumbletops: both goblins, and Su Fa Su Gut, a very pretty elf, who Oily really likes. They are all involved in this dancing contest, but who will win it?

About Me

I am Victor L Moore, children’s and young adults, published author. I am also a playwright and children’s drama teacher. I have written seven books, two of which are published. They are The Pentacle of Northumbria, which is for young adults and the first of a trilogy. Later came Oily Gasbag Goes A Dancing, which is for younger kids aged around 7-9 years. I am going to publish, next year, The Sisterhood of The Dead, which is the follow-on novel from The Pentacle series.

Ever since a very young age I have loved fantasy and magical stories. This all began in Wales, when my aunt’s housemaid played the wicked witch in Sleeping Beauty in a pantomime in Cardiff. She was very scary but funny. I have a vivid imagination and can weave a story out of thin air. Fantasy, despite bits of reality creeping in, takes us all on a mythical and mysterious journey that brings a sense of other worlds into our lives, and long may it continue to do so.
