The Victim is mind-blowingly well-written; and the characters and events therein are described so succinctly, with hyper-realism. The character development, exploration of defense mechanisms and psychology is practically unique. However, the story itself, that is the events which transpire, are only moderately interesting. I certainly enjoyed this page-turner.
Hollowland creatively depicts interesting characters engaged in exciting adventure! This was an enjoyable page-turner!
Tolkien's writing is so poetic and compelling; the protagonist is interesting and endearing; and the adventure delved into is pure wonder! Tolkien's world of Middle-Earth seems as intricate and real as our world, but even more interesting.
The writing flows, the characters come to life, and the tale is compelling, with incredibly intricate plots and immense world-building. What a joy!
Heart of Darkness is an unusually well-written tale; and (of course) Conrad is a true word-smith. The characters' psychological depths are extraordinary, although the adventure spoken of could have been more exciting.
