A beautiful little edition of the classic Christmas story with gilded edges, color illustrations and a bookmark ribbon.
I loved this book, a collection of writings about romance in all its glory. It is witty, wry, thoughtful and most of all funny. I laughed out loud multiple times.
It consists mostly of a collection of synopses of D'Ancey LaGuarde's work, but also a few excerpts. (I was, honestly, hoping for more excerpts.) There are also quite a few musings on the tropes, sub-genres and characters in romance as a whole. Have you ever wondered if you might be a romance heroine/hero or just how many kinds of dukes there are? You'll find out here! The prose is flowing and captures the spirit of the genre wonderfully. The text is peppered with footnotes providing comedic asides a la Pratchett. The icing on the cake are the illustrations. There are multiple covers of D'Ancey's novels reproduced and even a Where's Wally style seek-and-find double page illustration for the Lost Duke.
(Full disclosure: I am one of the supporters of this work, i.e. you'll find my name in the back of the book.)

Interesting concept. The story wasn't exactly one of Twain's best. The illustrations are very nice.
I like the detailed description of the different massage techniques. I also enjoyed the extensive information on essential oils and their applications.
The new-age aspects of the book did not appeal to me.
Overall, I found it good for learning about incorporating massage into a couples' sensual repertoire.

This richly illustrated, little book is essentially one man's love letter to women's breasts. The illustrations are from many different periods and styles of art including film stills. They are mostly erotic in nature, though some are well-known works of art including depictions of bared breasts.
The language employed is sometimes a little too crass for my taste. I appreciate that the author wanted to expound on all of the terminology for breasts, but after that section, I found some of the terms used in the body of the text off-putting and thus distracted me from the overall theme.
All in all this would be a worthy addition to any collection about erotic art.

This should be required reading for everyone.
Unfortunately, we live in turbulent times. Even though Trump lost re-election, he and his ilk are not gone. Republicans are systematically dismantling American democracy using tricks from the fascist playbook.
I really enjoyed the bite-sized chapters. Every chapter starts with the lesson in a concise paragraph. This is followed by an exposition on the lesson with historical context.

A beautifully designed book for a wonderful podcast about design and architecture
I love everything about this book. As a fan of the podcast I was excited when I heard they were producing a book. It was nice to read some of the stories I already knew from listening to the podcast, as well as some new stories that were written especially for the book. I just know I will keep coming back to this book as a sort of reference manual to all the little details of the city.
It is written in bite-sized chunks. You can read the stories in any order or from cover to cover. The illustrations are wonderful. I love line drawings. Patrick Vale did a wonderful job rendering the objects and situations in the stories. I highly recommend it to anyone with even a passing interest in design or architecture.

A beautiful book full of interesting characters and lively illustrations. It goes way beyond "A League of their Own". I would recommend it to anyone interested in baseball history or women's history.
Some of Poe's lesser known works collected in a handy, small volume. It isn't really scintillating stuff, but could be interesting for someone who is interested in Poe or 19th century philosophy.
