Angelfire is one of those books that you hear all that hype about, and you doubt will be good, but you decide to give it a try. And you read it, and are pleasantly surprised by how good it is.
There were just a few things that I wasn't a huge fan of in the book. The first was how ditzy Ellie was in the very beginning. But luckily, she got past that pretty quick. Will was not my favorite character either. It bothered me how wishy-washy he was. But strangely enough, I was surprised by how un-stalkerish he was. He gave Ellie her space, and he only came to her when she needed him, or when she begged him too. Which led to the fact that at times, Ellie was a bit too obsessed with him.
The last thing I had a problem with was Josie. Although a very, very minor character, she was never really understandable. She was talked about as if she were the school mean girl, but she never acted that way.
I really loved the entire plot line, and the villains. Both were strongly done, and the story ended in a maddening cliffhanger. Angelfire is the type of book where, once you get into it, it's hard to stop reading.
In all, I really enjoyed this book. Though its a bit shallow in parts, its still interesting and fun. Definitely something to keep!

Before I read this, I had read a few great reviews about it. It was good, I must say. It just didn't do it for me until the very end. That meaning last, oh, 60 pages or so.
At first, it was slow. Actually, at first, it was good. Enough to draw me into it. Then, it became slow. There wasn't much happening in it. At times, it almost seemed to drone on a bit. No action.
Then I go to the last 60 or so pages. The dialogue and action started and it became amazing. There were a ton of twists that were fun and exciting. It turned out amazing.
AMAZING. That's all I need to say. It was awesome. The twists were "Whoah" and the characters were funny and realistic.
The plot was awesome. I loved the concept. It was funny and entertaining. When I had to wait for dad to give me the headphones, it just killed me. (not really, but close) I just had to know what happened. And it's now killing me not knowing what's going to happen in the second book.
Ethan was really funny. At times I was like "Really?! Do something!", but at others, I was like "I would never have thought of that". But he was still realistic. It amazed me how that was pulled off.
Lena was awesome. Nothing more needed.
The adults were... interesting. In most young adult books, the adults are 1. Not in the book, or barely in it, 2. Not realistic, or 3. All the same. That's what set them apart from so many other books. They all had their own little personalities. But they weren't overkill. They didn't overpower the story.
In all, I have to say it's in my top ten, maybe even top 5 favorite books!
