Wonderfully true to life. Humorous, and filled with whimsical views of a teacher's experience and interactions with students, administration, parents, and fellow teachers.
I loved it!!!
I expected to learn about a forgotten time, a time when people worked the land, and girls wore dresses, and life was simple. But I seemed to be consumed with reflecting on the relationships in the story, and how even today, we suffer unnecessarily because of a lack of communication. Pride is a terrible thing, so is keeping secrets.
So many life lessons are learned while reading this story. All the characters have something to teach us. Gene Stratton-Porter was a great author.
Enjoyed learning about moths as well. Mrs. Comstock was my favorite character.
A quick look at the major religions of the world, how they evolved and what they have in common. Also contains information on how Christianity adopted pagan beliefs as their own, and therefore contributed to following traditions of men.
This is a book meant to be used with your personal copy of the Bible. It is a Bible study aid.
It contains a wealth of information, alot of which is very diferrent from what many religions teach.
Jeremiah had to speak on behalf of the true God to his fellow Israelites, who were not doing what was right in the eyes of Jehovah. He had to face the religious leaders of his day. Would they listen? This book is a wonderful resource for anyone wanting to learn of the trials Jeremiah faced as he attempted to do God's will in his lifetime. Modern Christians may be upbuilt and encouraged to forge on with their Christian living despite attacks from others. A wonderfully written book, simple and with questions at the end of each paragraph to make personal study a breeze. Use it with your copy of the Bible.
"What you need is lots of soap.......Oofy poofy, oofy poofy NOPE!"

It's about a piggy that doesn't want to come out of the mud puddle and take a bath.
Pomerantz plays with make believe words, hence the reason why the book is a great read aloud.
Exposing little ones to these phonemic rhyming patterns establishes a good foundation for school and reading.

What do you give the mom who has everything? You give her this book!!
What a way with words Robert Munsch has. Although Munch's books almost always make you laugh, this one will make you cry.
A great book to give your mom on mother's day, or an expectant mom at a baby shower.
It is a great bedtime story to read to your little one.......WARNING: Sudden desire to purchase high ladder at Home Depot is a side effect of this book!
This wonderful little book filled with anecdotes, experiences, and quotes you can add to your collection is a must read for any woman.
Angelou has a way with words. She ends the book on a humble note. Really quite impressive!
A must read for anyone that likes to read about life's most important lessons.
I am surprised that only six other members have read this wonderful book.
I read it for the first time purely by accident. It was a book in an elementary school library.
What it was doing there, I do not know.
But, thanks to it I discovered Maya Angelou's biographical series. All of them well worth the read.
Her experience as a woman, and all the suffering she endured, as well as how she overcame alot of hardships and thrived,
deeply moved me.
I know why the caged bird sings covers her life up until her late teenage years.
