While on the surface a children's book, The Capture also displays a stark parallel between St. Aggie's and the Nazi Youth. This book (and most likely the series as a whole) is deeper than it may first appear.

Good idea, but poorly executed. I like both authors, so I was disappointed with their team-up. They basically beat the reader over the head with their spiritual message using several cheap copouts and alot of improbable dialogue.

I just like doing the Scottish accent when I read this and other Redwall books to my family.

I saw the movie and didn't really like it. I decided to give the book a try because I liked the plot itself, and wound up intrigued. I agree with those who think it is to long, and that it would be better at about 300 pages. And yet, despite the length, I found it moved at just barely a fast enough pace to keep me interested. My favorites are Dustfinger and Farid. I want a library like Elinor's!
Once again, Earth is under attack by the alien race known as buggers. The human soldiers are outgunned, outnumbered, and desperately in need of a savior. That savior comes in the form of Ender Wiggin, a brilliant six year old who is his parents' third child in a time where only two children are allowed per household. Ender is found by the administrator of a military training facility called Battle School. He is taken away from his parents, his manaical older brother Peter, and his sister Valentine, the only person in the world who truly loves him. He is brought up in the harsh and cruel environment of Battle School, where he is trained tactics and maneuvers and where the only the thing that matters is the Game. While the teachers do all they can to isolate Ender and mold him into the perfect soldier, some of his fellow students do all they can to kill him. He quickly advances to the higher ranks of the school, and the teachers are convinced that he is the one to save them all. But will Ender prove them right, or will all the cruelty and hate break him?

Loved it, highly recommended.

I could not put this book down! Matthias's son Mattimeo is mousenapped by a familiar character and Matthias will stop at nothing to rescue him. He is helped by characters such as Jess squirrel, Orlando the Axe, and , of course, Basil Stag Hare. A real page-turner.

This is definitely my favorite Redwall book. It held me from the first page and it explains Martin's backstory very well. I love the thirst for vengeance and liberty that the slaves show and Ballaw is just hilarious!
