Nicely done! Great premise, well written, good pacing, super character development. Nothing not to like...

Good pacing and structure with a few twists thrown in. I felt Meghan coped a little too easily with back to back devasting losses, but all in all a smooth, enjoyable read. I'll definitely give the next book in the series a try.

Book could stand editing. Ends with a cliff hanger. Be prepared to read all seven books in the saga if you want a complete story.

I wish it had been made clear this was the first installment of a serial. While I enjoyed the story, I would not have bothered if it had been clear this was not a stand-alone. I would have waited until the complete series option was available.

That said, the storyline is interesting; the characters relatable and the stakes high. I'm curious how it ends. Just not curious enough to pay stand-alone pricing for each installment.

Mallory is supposed to be 39, but her actions and dialogue are more suitable for a teen. She comes off immature. I found Alex to be the most interesting character, yet his tolerance and affection for Mallory weren't believable to me. I didn't like how the book stops...not a cliffhanger, simply stops...I'd have preferred to have been forewarned going in. Pacing is good, and it was a promising premise. A lighthearted, fun read, just don't expect more.
