Entertaining start to a new series, with Harris' usual gift for clever dialog and varied plot. Look forward to more!
Were's as a 'family' stretching back to Babylon
Bill gone for most of book. Eric amnesia for most of book. Busy.
A little busy, what with Were's, Shifters, Vamps, and a Vamp political structure that is more info than I needed at this point. However, a good, quick read. Sort of setting the stage for what is to follow...
Excellent read. Couldn't put it down, which is unusual for me. Particularly liked the clever word-play at which Parker excelled. Atkins seems to have it down very well.
A little shallow on the many characters and somewhat hard to follow because of that. However the action sequences are absolutely outstanding; and they are the main reason for reading the book.
A little slow at the start and seriously confusing in the middle. But all the way through a compelling mystery - and a great ending!
It's a well-written story that moves quickly and with very few slow spots. Towards the very end it gets a little unbelievable, but considering its entertainment value, it's a small price to pay for a good read. I'll definitely look into some of his other works.
Very readable, using info based upon personal accounts. Covers history leading up to WW2. Short chapters and concise personal accounts make it easy to put down and pick up again.
Clever blending of police drama with religious and the gray moral area of Thai brothels; with a bit of weird spy/underworld stuff tying it all together. Enjoyable. But Bangkok Eight was better.
