This is a thoroughly enjoyable and action-packed romance. I loved the historical parts about the 1830 British elections, but I was captivated by the magical Malcolm story line. I especially liked Ash's Malcolm ability to detect lies. I just might have to go read all Patricia's other books about the Malcolm clan.

I love this book and will definitely be recommending it to the readers in my life, both child and adult. Poppy is an engaging character and the situations she finds herself in are highly entertaining. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
