Tangled Web wasn't a horrible book, but it definitely lacked depth. I felt like the opportunity was there to expand, but it seemed as though the content was more of a novel outline and less of a completed book. The characters were well developed, but I kept hoping for more of a back story. I can't help but think that I would have felt more of a connection with the characters if the time was spent on explaining what happened between the Walker & Johnson families. Knowing what severed their relationship, all those years ago, would have made it easier to relate and/or choose side.
This is a cliffhanger. So, there were quite a few things left unresolved.....which I'm not a huge fan. I'm not giving up on Lizzie James, or the Johnson's & Walkers. I'm hopeful that the next book will provide us with everything that this one lacked....

Can I just say 'wow'? This is one of those reviews that I've put off until nearly (but not quite) the last minute, because I just don't know what to say....but I'll try my best.
It was so strange, but so good. The author's conscious decision to omit quotation marks really spoke to the mental state of his main character. It was definitely a risk worth taking. The entire structure of the story constantly reminded you that you were in the mind of a mentally unstable person. I could for sure see her degrading, which I think speaks a lot about the author's ability to alter his voice to that of his characters. You never FELT like she was normal (but when is a main character normal?), and even if you were fooled for a second, you were bounced right back by one of her episodes.
This story made me feel...

I honestly enjoyed reading this book. I never felt like I was reading a requested book. It really pulls you in. You fall totally in love with all of the characters, even some of the bad ones, and you just want to see where the current takes them. It did take a little bit to get into the action (by action I mean romance, hello), but it was well worth the wait.
I have to say, it was....

I am very new to the "lad lit" genre, and immediately found myself on Google....trying to shed some light on this adventure, for which I was about to embark. For those of you who aren't already familiar, lad lit is the male equivalent of chick lit....meaning it's written by men, with strong masculine themes, essentially allowing the readers to glimpse inside the illusive male brain.
The Flood is hilarious!
I constantly found myself laughing out loud at the way these characters interacted with each other and dealt with various self-induced situations. Venturing into the minds of these crazy guys allowed me to have a better understanding as to why men do things the way that they do. I'm pretty certain that men will read this book and find themselves nodding their heads as they relate to the characters, and women (while wondering nonstop wtf these guys are thinking) will read it all the way through, if for no reason other than, to see how in the world the "flood" ends.
We haven't seen the last of Steven Scaffardi, and I personally can't wait to read the next adventure!

What can I say about Taking Flight, by Colleen Young......
This is a hard review to write.
This was a good read. I really enjoyed the story line, and it was easy to follow and easy to picture the characters. I read it in a day and a half, I simply couldn't put it down. But, when it got towards the end the main character was finally going to choose which man she wanted to be with.
So I thought......
The ending was very confusing.
Did I miss something?
Why would she stop there?
These are the things I was asking myself, I even went back to the beginning and then back to the end of the book. It just didn't make sense.
All I can say is I hope there is a sequel or continuation of these characters in the second book, because there was no clear ending for me. If she does write a sequel to this one I would definitely read it to get some closure.
This is going to drive me crazy.

I honestly hope that this review doesn't disappoint, because it's going to be rather short, simply because I don't want to say too much and give any of the book away.
I freaking loved it!! I've read enough hot and steamy bad boy biker books to be considered an expert, so trust me when I say that Hard Rider won't disappoint. Lydia Pax changed things up a bit, and created an alpha male character (Ram) that wasn't afraid to let his guard down and step beyond his comfort zone. Ram's immediate attraction to June, the girl returning to a place that she'd rather forget, led him to come up with a spur of the moment plan that started them down the path of changing one another's lives. It worked, and what started out as a charade, ended up being an exhilarating and sexy ride until the very end. Give. Me. More.

This type of book is, and quite honestly will probably always be, one of my greatest weaknesses. There is something about stories, where the good girl catches and "tames" (see what I did there) the bad boy, that never gets old. With that being said, it doesn't matter how bad said bad boy is, or how innocent the good girl is, the story needs to flow and keep me interested. Sooooo I guess you're probably wondering what I thought about Tame Me.
The main characters, Wren and Stellan were perfect for each other. Wren will easily steal the heart of anyone who picks up the book. She loves unconditionally and honestly doesn't expect anything in return. Fate, (and an intrusive sister, Lennon) makes sure that Wren and Stellan cross paths, and their lives are forever changes. The story was easy to follow, and kept me wanting more. I also loved to find that Tame Me didn't end as a cliffhanger, and that the story of Stellan's brother will continue in book number two.
I am so excited that Tame Me is part of a series (each book in the Zane series is a stand-alone), because one book simply wasn't enough. Needless to say, a review of book 2, the story of Dylan and Riley, will happen!

I have read several books similar to this (or so I thought). The whole 'fall in love with an immortal' thing is, albeit, slightly overdone...But some people prefer their steak cooked that way........and some people are vegan (or a vegetarian), but that's beside the point.
This book was very unique. All of the books similar to this that I have read have been through the eyes of the one falling in love with said immortal. The mortal with a comparatively shorter life span, might I add....which is typically true when you compare an immortal to a mortal. Who'd have thought? Anyway, as I was saying, this book was different in that aspect. It was through the life of Bright, the god. It was a very new experience, as well as quite humbling, to read something like that.
There were a few awkward parts. For example, the first third of the book is mostly without dialogue, and it was beautifully written, but I found the periods of extended dialogue to be slightly stiff. As well as the fact that the time period where this book takes place is a little lost on me...they spoke with very modern language, so I would picture them in slightly-modern times, but.....

Bound by Julie Wixom
Well, I finished reading Bound today. The first six chapters were hard to follow, the descriptions were dry and kind of boring. They didn't draw me in like other books I have read in the past. I didn't give up though, and I am glad. Chapter seven through the end proved to be worth my time. I couldn't put it down, couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. Even though there was some misspelled/misused words I figured out quickly what the word was supposed to be and read on.
I would recommend this book with a warning to be patient because it is worth it in the end.

This is another one of those books that have been on my list for quite a while. I actually borrowed it from a friend of a friend a few years ago, but I just never go down to reading it...Boy, do I regret that now....
This book is one of those "Oh my GOD, just get together already!" books. It did have a HUGE plot twist, well, two plot twists, actually, that I honestly wasn't expecting.
This is positively one of those "Don't put it down until you turn the last page" books, I finished it in just under six hours....who needs sleep, am I right?... and started the second one...then the third one...then the fourth one...
My favorite thing about this book has to be....

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is time that I review this series because it is the one that got me into reading, as well as one of my favorite hobbies, Greek mythology. Yes, I am a nerd. Haven't we already established that? None the less, I hold this series near and dear to my heart. Anyway, onto the review, my friends.
This book starts off with a troubled 12 year old kid named Percy Jackson-who lives in New York with his mom- and his best friend Grover. He is constantly going in and out of schools for many different reasons, and never feels like he truly belongs. Until one day, when he has to kill his math teacher because she is really a monster(aren't all math teachers?). A while after that he finds out that his Greek Mythology teacher is Chiron(go figure), and also that his best friend is really a satyr...Yeah. I love this book, oh my gosh. He, his mother and Grover are chased by the Minotaur. in the chase Percy kills the beast and then passes out(*swoon* what a manly man.We all end up having a crush on him in the end). He wakes up in Camp Half-Blood, a camp for demigods, and meets Annabeth Chase(*wiggles eyebrows*), along with many others. I'm not going to tell you all the details, but some pretty awesome stuff goes down. Percy ends up going on a quest. He kills like ten thousand monsters, goes to the Underworld and talks to Hates, kills Medusa, and defeats Ares. You know, just the everyday norm. He's a hero, and this review....

I'm Not Your "Baby": An Australian woman's tortured life of sexual harassment and assault by Joy Jennings
I need to start this review by saying how courageous the author is for sharing her story.
So many women become victims of stalking, rape, and/or abuse and feel like they are alone. Being able to read about the experiences of others, shows them that they're not alone in this harsh world.
From very early in her childhood, well into becoming an adult, Joy found herself being victimized by men. The very first instance talked about a neighbor peeping in her bedroom window when she was a small child. She did what any child placed in that situation should do...she told her dad. He "dealt" with the perpetrator, and the issue was never addressed. This continues. Horrible, violating things would occur, she told her father/parents, they dealt with it their way, and the issue was never to be spoken of again.
ARE THESE PEOPLE FOR REAL?!?!?!?!?
This book made me angry! In fact, I put it down several times and started reading something new because I needed a break from the sadness and frustration I felt every time I picked it up. I'm fully aware.....

Room is a book that pulled me in right from the start. It's an amazing perspective to experience, not only because it's written in the mind of a five year old boy, but because it inspires you and makes your heart ache in the same sentence.

Silence is about a 16 year old girl named Oakley who was sexually abused growing up and has been completely silent since she was five. She only really trusts three people in her life, one of which is her best friend Cole. Cole is Oakley's best friend that is only two years older than her. He is a very sweet and dynamic character, who cares for Oakley and loves her, and she reciprocates those feelings. You'd think it would be hard for them to communicate but Cole understands almost everything she is trying to convey. They've been best friends for their whole life, and as they get older their feelings for one another grow. The only man she really wants to be with is Cole, he and her have such an immense love for one another and it warmed my heart throughout the book. Cole and Oakley switch POVs throughout the book, although it's mostly Oakley that is narrating. I love that about this book because it shows Cole's side of the story, which is very interesting. Nobody really KNOWS why Oakley is silent except her dad, who, by the way, is a complete ass. He walks around keeping the secret about what happened to Oakley and not to mention he is the reason she is silent. Ugh, I hate .....

I shall read this book next, yes." and then you see a different book and forget all about the poor book that just got smothered under the thousands of other sad little books that have been on your book list since the beginning of time.

In this book Evie finally has a normal life until the agency finds out she's not dead and they try to recruit her again. What i don't understand is now that she has the life she's always wanted, why in the world would she want to go back? But, hey!! That's just me!!

In Vitro Lottery, was very interesting, and is definitely one of those books that make you wonder if it will one day become our reality. The story kept my interest piqued, and the characters were well developed, but I had a really hard time reading this one. Like seriously, a reallyyyyy hard time, and I'm afraid that it had more to do with bad editing, rather than, it being poorly written. In a typical week I read between 3-5 books.....this book took 8 days all by its self. There are a lot.....

Dirt by C. C. Hogan
So, I've been reading Dirt for a while now; longer that i usually spend on a book. That can be partly because I've been sick, and partly because the book is a little slow. I've decided to write a review on what I've read so far, and then come back to edit it later! Genius, I know.
Quoting the words of the author (via DM on Twitter), " I am not sure what you normally read, but this is a book to relax into. Unlike many fantasies, the characters are very important. They are not super heroes or princesses, but ordinary people with humour and problems who are looking for something better in life. That includes the dragons! The female characters are especially strong and in series two, they take the lead. You have a huge journey before you get there! Good luck and enjoy the world of Dirt. All the best, CC "

It didn't take long for this story to piss me off! Seriously, these people are easy to hate.
Let's play a little game of character first impressions, shall we:
First, we have Molly, who divorces her first husband (Theo), so that she can marry the "other" man (Henry). Theo, the professional boxer, and Molly (the cheating slut) have a daughter, Rebecca. Rebecca, is the spawn of Satan (also referred to as the Antichrist, by Henry). Henry....let's just say that he was my least favorite character......initially. It was pretty obvious that he wasn't a fan of his step-daughter, so I immediately found myself wondering why in the hell he was the one who took her to Dr. Campina's office (the books setting).
Rebecca's constant need for her mother's attention, and random irrational temper-tantrums, made Henry feel as though they were competing for Molly. To make matters worse, Molly decided to run away from reality, leaving Henry with the responsibility of caring for Rebecca. At first, I thought that was the absolute worst thing she could have done...

I finished reading Sparrow one day last week, and I've attempted to write this review several times a day since, but each time I find myself at a loss for words (which rarely happens). I honestly feel like this should be one of the easiest reviews that I've ever written!!
WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?!?!?!?!?!?
Sparrow can very easily be referred to one of the best books I've ever read, and I've literally talked about the plot/characters to any and everyone who would listen. Sooooooo why can't I get my crap together and knock this review out?? Am I having a hard time putting my thoughts/feelings together because I'm afraid that I won't be able to adequately give this book the recognition that it deserves?
ABSOLUTELY!! (but I have to give it a shot)
Here goes nothing.......
