This book I won via a LibraryThing Contest it’s a series about Chief Inspector Mario Silva in this book the FIFA World Cup is about take place when Tico Santos’s mother is kidnapped three weeks prior to the cup. It’s up to Mario Silva to find her. There are many people that could be potential suspects. Some motives are to throw Tico off his game and insure he isn’t up to his game. A gold digging future wife who his mother was investigating, a man whose career was destroyed by Tico. This book is definitely full of action and adventure leaving you wondering who had the most to gain by Ms. Santos being out of the picture. Definitely had you wondering up the end what happened and who had Tico’s mother. A great book.
What a great and fresh story about Samantha (Sam), Will and Mickie and dealing with ripple the ability to turn invisible. They find that there is more to this rippling then they knew and who was behind it. There are evil forces out there trying to kill people with the ripple gene. Will and Mickie have done their best to keep this hidden from their town, when Will notices that Sam has the ripple gene the whole thing blows out into the open. I loved it!
This book was definitely different you follow the story of Theresa as she battles with her ill mother who suffers from schizophrenia which seems to really make it hard to be a good mom, her father who bears the weight of the world, dealing with the kids Mikie and Theresa, and his sick of wife. When he can't bear it anymore he commits the unthinkable. The kids get up rooted to their mother's parents house, Mikie finally has enough and finds himself shunned out of the house to live with someone else. While Theresa gets passed around like Candy to whoever will care for her. Theresa spends much of her time raising herself, she also learns that people don't treat her the best work wise due to her mother talking to invisible people. This book was raw and great way to learn how damaging mental illness can be.
This book was great it combined humor, mystery, southern people and over all you get to meet all the people within the town. When Cecil Lovejoy is killed they are over run by possible suspects. They have the women he swindled into doing things they may not have, they also have family members who keep telling the police to butt out. Jenkin's wonders what everyone is hiding and who's complaining about them trying to catch a murder. In the end I didn't even have the suspect right. I loved this book definitely worth purchasing, you won't be disappointed in the least. This author is very skilled in his writing and telling of a murder mystery story, along with adding the southern slang.

I received this book via Pump Up Your Book Promotions for a honest and fair review.
I loved this book, as the two boys who use to be friends are working with each other to best the Summer Queen. While you are reading from Robin Goodfellow's perspective I enjoyed seeing them somewhat get along. It does show how they use to be very close and even Meghan can't separate what friendship lies deep down. Definitely different then the books that are told from Meghan's prospective. This one was purely about the guys. I laughed and could feel the missing element from the trio. Be interesting to see how The Iron Knight plays out.
This book is the beginning of a series about Stephanie Plum who finds herself in desperate need of a job having been unemployed for the past 6 months. She's about to loose her apartment, have her utilities cut off, and loose her car. She goes to her mother's house for dinner where her parents tell her about Vinnie Plum's business and how he may have work for her. She heads to Vinnie's bent on getting a job and after much persuasion blackmails Vinnie into hiring her as a bounty hunter, which Stephanie knows next to nothing about. Her first case is to bring in Joe Morelli an ex cop being charged with murder. The good side would be Stephanie would get $10,000 the bad part Morelli doesn't make it easy to for Stephanie to get her money. In the meantime she meets Ranger who teaches her some bounty hunting tips. This book was packed with action, humor *gotta love Grandma Muzur*, relationships and the occasional dinner with the folks.
I received this from HCI Teens for a honest and fair review, and oh my god this was totally different then anything I have read lately. This story had me on the edge of my seat, seeing aspects of the story of Romeo and Juliet. You have the flatliners who are a misfit group doing the best they can in a society where the Toppers succeed and the flatliners just try to get by. Nass is new to Middleburg and the last thing he needs is to join a gang but what he sees in the flatliners is more than a gang, he sees friends helping each other trying to get by. He also meets Dalton who he is smitten with. The toppers are the typical spoiled rich kids, minus Aimee who has returned to town after being in an institute after the death of her boyfriend Tyler. She meets Raph and is instantly falling for him. He treats Aimee like a person and doesn't shun her since her return. Master Chin teaches the kids martial arts and warns them that bigger things are happening.

I enjoyed this the action was incredible, the humor was just as great and a refreshing read for the supernatural aspects. You really feel like your with the gang in their various situations. Definitely a great series can't wait to read the next one called Ghost Crown.
This story in my opinion didn't hold up as well as Radiant Boy. In this one Riley goes looking for someone to save while on vacation with Bodhi and Buttercup. She ignores Bodhi's advice to not butt in until it is too late. Rebecca is an angry ghost who died when slaves revolted against their master. From all you can see about Rebecca she is the typical spoiled rich child. Riley spent most of this book relieving people's worst nightmares, in a world Rebecca has many stuck in. I think she should have listened more to what her guide had to tell her, and not let her stubbornness over rule her. A good book but not as good in my opinion as Radiant Boy was.
This book follows the relationship of Susie O'Brien and Mack Franklin. Mack starts out getting laid of from his job as a sports reporter as he was getting ready to propose to Susie O'Brien. Susie has no clue how Mack is feeling and gets shut out when he gets laid off. Mack afraid to confide in Susie about the work situation which doesn't last long as she gives him what for for not telling her what was going on. Then the tables become turned when Susie has a medical scare and is afraid to tell Mack. Eventually they sort through all this and Susie helps Mack start a newspaper in town. Mack stands by Susie during her medical situation trying to be the best cheerleader she could have. Was a great read seeing what the O'Briens are up to.
Laila tries everything in her power to cut Matthew O'Brien and all the O'Brien's out of her life when she dumps Matthew due to what happened with her father and her. Having him disapprove of her choice in men, and jeporadizing his bank and all. She is reluctant to even take a job offered by Jess O'Brien at the Inn to be the accountant. But the pay is good and the view is beautiful. She turns down the trip to Dublin until Nell (Gram) works her magic on Laila.

While in Dublin she sees a side of Matthew she hasn't seen, she learns what he likes and doesn't and where her heart lies. Nell also comes across a man she loved as a boy prior to marrying Charles O'Brien. Nell discovers that even though she is falling for her old flame that the timing is right for her to leave the shores for Ireland. No matter what the price.

A great story of two loves and a wedding. I love how Sherryl Woods is able to weave such great stories.
This was a great book, you meet both packs see how they interact you also learn alot about Calla and her fierce loyalty. When new things happen to her she has a quick response to how to fix things. I can't wait to see what happens next to her. Definitely a fab. series to follow. The book also has a great spin on werewolves. Not your typical shed the clothing situation. Which is interesting as most werewolves would dump too much money on clothing costs alone. I wish she had confided more in her brother but I'm sure that would play against Calla. Keep up the great story telling!
While the story was a good one, I had trouble with the illustrations, they felt more like stick figures then illustrtations. The story is great it follows Guinevere and Cedwyn, and their future. I would have liked to know what happened to her friend in the end as we know Guinevere's fate. The both are small kids, doing things that get them into trouble. They also learn that they shouldn't just throw themselves into danger as they have important things to do in life.
I loved this book, we meet Chloe Rogers who is a bridal shop manager who's engaged to Richard who seems a bit materialistic, always on the phone putting Chloe on the back burner. As she is planning her wedding her first love Josh comes back into town. All Chloe can think is why is he back? Has he finally returned to a long ago promise to marry her, that he told her when they were 11? This book I found was great cause as Chloe is making these big decisions she also helps her mother reunited with a flame from her past. Definitely a great romantic story.
I think I agree with most people that say this series should have been left alone. I liked the somewhat happy ending that was there prior to this book. In this book we find Jace going through all sorts of issues. Jocelyn and Luke are planning their wedding. All sorts of people are trying to get Simon on their side. And as with all books the big nasty is out to destroy all shadowhunters. There was also reference to the Shadowhunter Will from Clockwork Angel, which I felt was really stretching it a bit. It was a ok read but not one that really needed to be done.
This book was definitely a good book. I liked how Grace made a lot of tough statements about her parents and their lack of attention. Also watching the relationship between Sam and Grace and meeting Cole and seeing him connect sort of with Isabel. Also trying to find out what was wrong with Grace. Loved the ending can't wait to read Forever.
This book was sent to my via NetGalley as part of a book tour. The main characters are Huber Hill and his twin sister Hannah Hill, their friend Scott McCormick. Hannah and Huber spend their Saturdays with their Grandpa Nick hearing stories about buried treasure. Shortly into the book Hannah and Huber are devastated by the loss of their grandfather who has died. He left a book to the kids which sparks them wanting to find the treasure little do they know that someone else is after the treasure and willing to get it at any cost. This book reminded me of the Goonies and Pirates of the Caribbean. Full of mystery, adventure, trying to figure out a treasure map, field guides written by their grandfather. The three travel deep into the mountains in search of the treasure having to think smart and fight of bad guys. I really enjoyed this book and think other readers will especially teenagers. What a great ride!
I got introduced to The Colorado Kid while watching the new tv show Haven, so I decided to look for the book that this show was based on. The book starts out with Stephanie working with the local Newspaper men. After interning them and learning the ropes she wonders if there is a crime that was never solved. They sit her down and proceed to tell her about The Colorado Kid, a man who wound up dead in Maine with no identification, and no idea how he came to be on the beach. The biggest question through out this book is how a man goes from Boulder Colorado to this small town in Maine from 10:30 til 5:30. That's a quandary in itself. This book unlike normal mysteries doesn't have an answer to it. Just leaves you wondering about the Colorado Kid. What a great story, loved it.
This book was rich in historical locations of New York and key characters, I found myself falling deep into the story of Sacha and Lily who become apprentice’s trying to battle mysteries and magic. It was great even the pictures in it were greatly detailed. Definitely a great book to read.
What a great story. Rita Napapolus is a women full of great mystery, and the unknown. How her past only dates about 10 years, prior to that she didn’t exist. Her story is one of great tragedy. Gina Blanco was a girl who had a loving family, and loyalty to her friends. Watching those she loved suffer horrible fates. She winds up accused of murder, and begins to prepare her defense, the only problem is no one else is right for the crime. In the end what happens to Gina goes beyond anything anyone could imagine. I couldn’t figure out if there would be a happy ending for her and was pleasantly surprised with the ending.
This book was definitely addicting following Noah Braddock as he goes to meet a father he never knew and end up a pawn in a deadly game of bad guys doing very bad things. Noah wants little to do with his father, but he’s been dragged in so deep because of Lawyer Darcy Gill he has no choice but continue through to the end. And it left with a questionable ending of what happened next, and where did Noah go to? What a thrilling ride of a book. Definitely enjoyed it!
I can't say enough about Cat DeLuca, she is funny, and smart and quick on the take. She finds herself fighting to free her assistant Cleo who is up on murder charges for offing her sleazy ex-husband. There are too many people who want him dead but only one who did it. Meanwhile Cat is also trying to catch a slippery cheating husband with his pants down. I love this series reminds me so much of Stephanie Plum. I can't wait to see what Cat is up to next!
As with any Stephanie Plum book this one is full of humor, and mystery. Stephanie is on her biggest case yet local favorite Moe who owns the local candy store is FTA, and it's up to Stephanie to find him. As Stephanie tries to find him against the angst of neighbors who love Moe the candy store owner, the bodies begin to pile up. For a while I thought Moe was behind the murders but was surprised with the ending. What a great book!
This story follows Kate Bennet who has suffered a terrible loss of her parents in a horrible car accident. Her and her sisters live in their house with their grandparents. Kate since the accident has been seeing auras, the ones she can't see are the ones that concern her. Patrick O'Donnell is a new kid in school she can't make heads or tails of.

Kate learns she is a Seer, and that her grandfather was one as well. That Guardians get sent to Seers to help guide them and work with them. Kate also has to deal with her failing relationship with Aaron. Ever since the accident their relationship has been falling apart.

What a great book and story. Definitely a great start for new author Heather Frost. She has a great detail to teenage issues, and angst. I could not put this book down had me hooked line and sinker. What a great job!
This book was incredible, most books that are read and reviewed are mystery, paranormal and don't deal must with what could happen to someone. In this book we follow the lives of Bob and Sarah Nickerson who are so busy working, commuting, raising their kids and rushing through the days, they miss out on the small things with their kids.

Charlie their son is dealing with school issues due to ADHD not being diagnosed. Sarah finds herself in a horrible car accident which has left her loosing touch with her left side also known as Left Neglected.

Sarah's mother returns to her daughter to right wrongs that were done when Sarah was a child after a traumatic family accident. She shows up when Sarah needs her most, even when Sarah tries to show her away time and again.

A good part of this book was the realization from Sarah that she couldn't do everything anymore. That she needed to trust and ask for help. That through everyone in her family, they helped her in different ways. Her husband was uber supportive of her issues and needing help, her mother gave her courage and reassurance that she was doing good.

In the end the relationship between mother and daughter repaired, and a new course was laid out for Sarah, Bob and their family.

I loved this story so much, I couldn't put it down. It gripped me and held my attention and probably will long after I've posted my review. To have an author grip you this way and make you look at your own life and wonder if we are moving to fast and show more missing the small things in life. What a great story to read and definitely worth checking out. I would recommend adding this to your bookcase if you haven't already. show less
As with all Stephanie Plum books this one is full of adventure, humor and sticky situations. Stephanie has her car burned, her apartment blown up all by a crazy gay person attacking her thinking she is stealing their boyfriend. Meanwhile things heat up between her and Vice Cop Joe Morelli, which causes the assumption that they are settling down much to Stephanie and Joe's assurance that nothing is going on. Stephanie, Lulu and Transvestite Sally are hot to find the FTA Maxine Nowicki who would be better off in jail than on the loose. A great read as always!
I enjoyed this book reading about the relationship between Elena and Stefan and Damon. Unlike the tv show which I am a fan of Tyler, in the book not so much he really plays the bratty card well. I liked how Damon kept the mysteriousness of himself. Definitely a great teenage read!
The things going bump in the night are at an all time high. A friend of MJ's desperately needs her assistance. Her niece Evie is being haunted at her private school by Hatchet Jack who haunts the local elementary wing of the campus.

MJ, Doc, Gilley and the hunky Doctor Steven Sable head to Lake Placid NY, to get to the bottom of things. They encounter many ghosts while there and one nasty spirit out to scare everyone. While there MJ and Steven find themselves having a hard time communicating without stepping all over each other or annoying one another. Steven learns what M J's job entails and learns to be more patient.

Hatchet Jack is in rare form, attacking adults and kids alike. What a great story always has me looking for more.
Gil, M.J. and Steve find themselves in a Haunted Hotel with too many ghosts and not enough busters. Giley hooks M.J. on the show called Haunted Possessions much to her dismay. And she meets Heath who seems to be the only other genuine article. The two of them end up ghost busting the hotel and earning money for their troubles. Between possessed mirrors, and a mysterious knife that has a killer mind of it's own. It's up to M.J. and Heath to tackle the situation.

What a great book full of humor, scariness and things that definitely go bump in the night. I couldn't put this book down, I was addicted to seeing the story through and I was thoroughly impressed with the story. I would recommend this to anyone who loves books about ghosts.
This book follows Dutch Rivers and Abby Cooper as they are deep under cover trying to get their hands on a weapon designed by the USA. They meet all sorts of bad guys to varying degrees. Abby's psychic abilities really come into play for the two as they battle to save their lives. They both also suffer their share of damage as well. Full of humor and action what a thrilling ride to take.

I enjoy reading this series as I love the relationship between Dutch and Abby. Full of it's ups and downs and major roller coaster ride. What a great series for anyone who loves reading about psychics and the CIA and FBI
The Gang finds themselves in Scotland where a evil witch is coming after members of a mob that killed them among those Gilley. M J does all she can to keep her beloved best friend safe from harm. A relationship is building between Heath and M J and M J isn't sure what to make of it with her bf back in the states.

What an incredible journey. I was beginning to think the Witch was going to get them in a not good way. I was so happy when they were able to ghost bust. The book really left me wondering what was the status of the relationship with Steven, M J and Heath, as he showed up to talk to her. What a cliff hanger of an issue.
