If you don't know me I am not the type of person that likes to read. I absolutely hate reading. I would rather sit and be bored out of my mind then read. Therefore this quarter I tried to get into a series. My brilliant plan was to read the first book and then eventually read the second and third if i had time. So, in conclusion, this worked kinda good... I still hated reading by the end of the year but that's okay. Reading isn't for everyone, anyhow now to my full book report.

This book was based on the wonderful place of futuristic Chicago. Everything is different, there are basically 5 main groups of people if you will, and these 5 groups of people make up the population or the country. At age 16 all children go through this drug-induced test to see what they're gonna be. Well, this one girl (forgot her name) her test scores showed p positive for multiple groups. This is a threat to the government and this she shall be vanished from the government or country. So she has to keep it a very big secret before she gets murdered by her own government. Oh, I just remembered her name its Beatress or just Tress. Anywho where was I, ah yes. So basically this group of people is planning to gain up and overthrow the government. They put a device into the “armies” necks and they could then use this to control them. Since Tress is a divergent these devices don't work on her so she basically gets uncontrolled so her and a couple of other divergent team up to defeat the rebels. show more Long story short they win and save the day! show less

This book is about a "club" (I'm sure it's not a club, it probably has a more accurate name), but what its basically about is Adolf Hitler (dictator of Germany at the time) who invaded Denmark. Denmark basically didn't resist at all because, well their army was weak, so naturally Germany just walked right in. The elders did absolutely nothing, the young (as in teenagers and people around that age) got mad because the elders just sat there. So a young teenager named Knid Pederson rallied up a bunch of his friends and they just started breaking things. They blew up cars and stole guns. This sparked a rebellion.

This was my favorite book that I've ever read, It really sparked my intelligence and I gained a lot of knowledge on what life was back then. In conclusion, I would DEFINITELY recommend this book to all ages.
This book is about a apocalips that hit earth, and most of the people fled but one young hero stayed behind to fight the zombies. And his name was Jack, but of course Jack couldnt do this by himself. So he gathered a couple of brave people that wanted to help fight the zombies. About half way through the story Jack found his best friend, Quint. In the end, surprise surprise, they win and defeat Blarg!, the zombie leader.

I found this book really interesting. It talked about Jack, who sounds like he has the same personality as me. His best friend Quint actually reminded me of Lee, my best friend. In conclusion I would recomend this book, it has lots of action and keeps you on edge the almost the entire time!

This book was probably one of the longest non-fiction books I have read. And to be honest, all It did was really refresh and sharpen my memory of Martin Luther King Jr. First, it states that MLKJ was born Jan. 15 1929 and that he died on Apr. 4 1968. It says that he grew up in a poor family in Atlanta, and went to three different colleges! They include Boston University, Morehouse College and Boston University School of theology. What's so great is that MLKJ never protested violently he did it peacefully by boycotting things. Finally, on August 28, 963, MLKJ gave his famous "I have a dream" speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

This book gave me some facts that I didn't know about but most of them I already knew, this book also talked about Rosa Parks. Overall this was a well-written book but most of the facts I already knew.
I will be reviewing the book the crossover, by Kwame Alexander. What really interested me in this book is that when I first opened it, the book was not written like a normal book... Instead, the book was written in poetry which ties in with the things we are learning about now. Anyhow, this book is about two brothers named J.B and Filthy (Josh). These brothers are not only brothers but also twins! But they find themselves taking different paths in their teenage years as one is interested in girls a bit more than basketball. J.B is fully focused on basketball. He is always practicing with his brother and looking for ways to get better. Filthy will take any chance he can get to make a bet (which he usually loses)

I really liked this book because believe it or not I actually play basketball myself. And the way Alexander (The author) expresses the different scenes in the book really fascinates me. For example, in one part of the book, there was a part where J.B was crossing somebody's ankles, and the author changed the fonts and stuff to really make me feel like I was actually playing basketball! I would read this book again and I am realy looking foward to read the next book!

This next book is about the revolutionary war. So first let's find out what started the revolutionary war. What actually happened was people were getting mad because of the stamp act. This meant that the British where now taxing Newspapers and all other types of documents. At times citizens and soldiers fought. But the worst was on March 5, 1770. This took place in Boston. What happened was that people were protesting when they started throwing stuff at the guards. The guards didn't like that so they shot them. By this time the war had started. Fast forward to 1775 because this is when our first president Goerge Washington takes charge. In March, Washington has his troops stationed on the hills of Dorchester. The British planned to attack the hills but decided that George Washington troops where to strong. After all, the Americans win and our country is founded.

This again was a well-written book> I liked how the author told us about a specific battle that took place. She also told us of several generals. I really do enjoy the pictures because the let me visualize the battle scenes better. Although there where some sad parts of the book I think lots more people should read it and make Mr. Kiefer proud.
This is my one nonfiction book called The Split History Of World War 2. So what this book states is that the war actually started in 1939 but the U.S didn't join in until 1941. The U.S actually joined in the war because of the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941. Then the United States decided to declare war on Japan. At first, just Germany and Italy where allies which were known as the Axis powers. If Germany wanted to win they were going to have to go for Britain. So the started bombing London and other major cities in Britain. Then one night Germany decided to attack Russia. Well, that lasted until winters. In case you didn't know. Russias winters are terrible. So they eventually surrendered to Russia.

I personally really like reading about the history of wars. I really enjoyed reading about this. It taught me just a little bit more information that I can add to my already brilliant mind. I also thought that the pictures where a really nice touch to the book
I read the darkest minds book, It was a great book, here is what happened. So basically there's this girl named Ruby in 5th grade. Everything is going totally awesome until this virus breaks out called I.A.A.N and almost all of Ruby's friends die but somehow she survives. Anyhow, then she ends up with a power that she later finds out that other children also have powers. All of the grown-ups got scared so the government through all of the children into these terrible camps. At the camps, they were divided into color groups. Blue kids who basically had the force. greens who were really smart. Yellows could do stuff with energy, reds who controlled fire. And oranges who controlled minds. Anyhow fast forwards, after a while, she gets to this camp and finds out that oranges actually are as a threat. So she acts like a green. Ruby makes lots of friends and then all of the sudden this girl showers up called Cate. She helps ruby escape and then gives her this panic button in case she ever gets in trouble. she gets curious so she runs away to find Chubs, Liam and Zu. Anyhow what ends up happenings is they save the day and help save the USA.
Ok, I think this book was a really good book but I wish it was a bit faster moving. I mean Ruby had all of the really cool powers and she didn't even use them. So to round things up, it was a great book but it could have just been a bit faster moving and not so forgetting. Hopefully, you enjoyed this wonderful review that I wrote!
