Wow!! I really enjoyed this book. This is the continuing story, (Book 3 of the series), of the Murdoch family of Chesterton, Virginia. You have Evan who is the head of the family, who holds a secret that may hurt his family but is also dealing with personal drama. Then there’s Dante, who is an addict and has a grudge against a family member, well most of his family members. Then you have Terrence who has a somewhat humbling accident that causes him to obsess/control his woman. Which, leads to him losing his woman. He then begins to ponder going back to the old life he led. This is my first time reading a book by this author, but it will not be the last. Definitely going to read books 1 and 2!

I went in thinking that this book would have more recipes than it does. The history of cookbooks and their authors was interesting in places, but fell flat in others. Really liked seeing the old cookbooks from way back when. This would not be a keep in the kitchen book, but a nightstand stack book.

In this book we meet Anna and Caro, who have become good friends. They have supported each other through the joys of motherhood, but an accident tears them apart. Both women are interrogated separately by police who try to find out exactly what happened. These interviews reveal secrets that neither woman shared with the other. The story is told through Anna and Caro’s alternating points of view. This was a very good read.

I did not think I would enjoy this book, but I really did. At the age of 10, Destiny Jones’ world changed. Her mother passed and her father left her with her grandmother to become an actor. This shaped Destiny’s future, as she protected herself from loving and from being hurt. As an adult, her father decides to come back into her life, but has secrets that he wants to share with her. These secrets once again change her life. This story was very moving and emotional. I really felt for Destiny’s character and rooted for her to find the peace that she truly deserved.

This is a very emotional story about a husband and wife who are faced with a very difficult choice regarding bringing a child into the world. This is a couple, who were childhood sweethearts and were envied by many who knew them and now, a tragedy may cause them to lose it all. While this story was a tear jerker, I found Lisa to be so selfish and self-serving and this made this book a difficult read for me.

This book is such a great story. To me, it was so realistic that it could have been someone’s biography. The writing kept me engaged and kept me turning pages to see what would happen next. The main characters are Libby, who is married to Ted and Truman, who is married to Caroline. This is a story of marriages in crisis, the friendships that revolve around those marriages and how secrets can destroy lives. Even the title truly comes into play with this story because it makes you ask is there anything that is as it seems.

I read this story, not in one sitting, but I had to keep making myself go back to it. I really liked the premise of the shoplifter finding a way out of her problems by claiming to be the missing teen, Rebecca Winter. I didn’t like that I couldn’t form a connection with the main character. We are given the story in two perspectives, that of the shoplifter and of the real Rebecca before she was kidnapped. At times the story told the same thing over and over again, and that’s when I put the book down. I can say that the ending was unexpected.

This was a somewhat hard book to get into, but as the story developed, I got more into it. Alex Dale is an alcoholic whose life is in shambles due to her disease. While researching comatose patients on assignment, she finds Amy, whose attack fifteen years earlier is still familiar to Alex. It is so familiar that she decides to solve the case. The book is told from different points of view of Amy, Alex and Jacob. Jacob was Amy’s boyfriend before that attack, but continues to visit her. As Alex tries to solve the mystery, it is easy to guess who the attacker was early on. I would recommend this book to those who like mysteries.

It’s the summer of 1988 in Leavenworth, Kansas and two brothers are passing the time poolside. They are left alone by their mother for long periods of time. Their mother works at a golf course and their father is a police officer who is helping out with the hunt for an escaped convict. At the pools the boys run into Chris, who is not a resident of the apartment, and a friendship grows. This friendship soon causes friction between the boys. And suspense slowly begins to build. This story creates the thought in the reader that something bad is going to happen. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who loves suspenseful stories.

The Good Goodbye is a story of two families, related by blood that are faced with and must come to terms with a tragedy, one that leaves lots of questions to be answered. We meet Natalie, Arden and Rory. Natalie happens to be Arden’s mother and Arden and Rory are cousins who are as close as sisters. The story is told alternately between their three perspectives, jumping from the past to present and back again, so you really have to pay attention. The girls leave for college where they are roommates. Soon after, their parents receive word of a fire in their dorm room that takes a life and leaves the two girls in critical condition. The story paints the picture of what happened that night and the events and secrets that led to it. Although I could predict the plot twist, that didn’t take away from the story for me. This is a great, suspenseful read that was well written and made me appreciate my own family dynamic more. I give this book 4 stars and recommend it to anyone who loves suspense and family dramas.

This chilling tale kept me interested throughout the book. It tells of a successful doctor who finds out that his wife is having an affair. He decides that the best way to hold on to all that’s dear to him is to kill the man his wife is having the affair with. The author really gives a glimpse of the mind of a sociopath when we see the doctor plan to become a serial killer in order to cover up his first murder. I would recommend this book to any thriller lover.

This book started off so good. It was kind of funny how the main character was an author of a book regarding the very thing she was going through at that time, but couldn't see what was happening to her. The book kept me interested in the story and excited to find out what would happen next. Then, it just ended. No climactic fight scene....nothing.
I agree with the person who said this would be a good Lifetime movie. I kept waiting for the suspense and was disappointed each time. Was an ok short read.
Really loved this story and most of the characters. The plot twist was surprising, but very enjoyable. Can't wait to read more by this author.

This story was a very emotional one that had me interested from the beginning. It is a story about family relationships, friendships, but also secrets. Sophie is one of the main characters and she finds out a secret early on that changes her life and sets her off on a quest to find the thing she didn’t know she was missing. Sophie has to decide if she wants to go back to the life she led or the life she never knew existed. The story is told from the perspective of Anna, Laura and Sophie, so you get a real picture of how and why things happened. This was a really good story and I would recommend it to anyone.

Sophie Kinsella is such a great author and her Shopaholic series is my favorite. This book follows in that series’ greatness. Katie Brenner, or Cat as she calls herself, is a farm girl who dreamed of living in the big city. When she finally makes it to the big city, life is not as glamorous as she thought it would be. She loses her exciting job in London and finds herself right back at the farm. This story is funny and the character of Katie is very endearing. I wish I could give it six stars.

The story tells of the murders of the Hutson family. The police suspect the patriarch of the family, Thomas Hutson, committed the murders and is now missing. State Trooper Ryan DeMarco investigates the crime and tries to determine if Thomas, a famous author and his friend, is guilty of the crime. The story is told from the alternating perspectives of Thomas and Ryan.
This wasn’t one of my favorite books, but I found that the twists and turns in the story kept my interest.

I thought this was a good story, after I warmed up to it. Ben and Juliette do what many parents do every day, and that is to send their child to school. They have the hope that their child will be safe, but during a school trip an accident occurs and their child is killed. Their grief leads them to try to find answers for their child’s death. The pain of their loss is truly felt through the author’s words. I would recommend this book to anyone.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters seemed so real and familiar and I hated when the book ended. Happily, there is a sequel.
This was a very good story. I really liked the characters and the plot. There were parts that I thought needed more information, as well as area where too much info was given. This is a story of a town whose secrets start to surface after a tragic accident happens at the community pool and of how each character deals with the truth coming out.

This book started off okay, but I felt like I was drowning in too much unneeded detail. The book is about a young girl who comes from a broken family through divorce. Evie is a loner who becomes a member of this cult-like group. She later becomes obsessed with one particular member of the group. The story is told from young Evie’s and present day Evie’s point of view. But, it doesn’t draw you in. It stops short at showing you exactly why Evie was drawn to and participated in the cult and not a group of mall hanging teenagers.

Although I really liked the cover of this book, I could not find anything about the story I liked. With most books, I start to get a feeling for and feel for the characters, but I couldn’t with this book. I just felt the story line was so unlikely and the characters were really over the top. This is a story of Mrs. Petrozzi, who ditches her fiancé and marries a guy she meets at a bar. And it just gets crazier from there. I truly had to make myself finish this book.

I was a little disappointed with this book. I could never really get into the story because the premise seemed so overdone and played out The story got to a point where you could predict what was going to happen and that made reading this story worse. Emma, who is 30, decides she wants to move to Connecticut, where she meets and rents an apartment from Dominic and a blind man could see where this story was leading.

This book is the tenth book of the Abbott Agency mystery series and while I liked this book, I did not love it and that may be because I haven’t read the previous books. The wall dividing Bea and her friend Leon’s property collapses and unearths a human skeleton, which puts in motion incidents that lead Bea to wonder about the former owners of the home, as well as wonder why it seems the neighbors are against her.
I plan to go back and read the other books, because I felt like I was just plopped down into the middle of the story and did not know its past. I would recommend this book to mystery lovers, but would advise them to read the earlier books in the series first.

The story opens with the rape of a young girl who went to a party and got drunk. Her parents are confronted with the dilemma to give her a memory erasing drug or to let her deal with the rape. They choose the drug. Told from the child’s psychiatrist’s perspective, this book was very hard to get into and took me a while to finish it. You have a sympathetic father and a mother who wants to “fix it” and move on. Her parents try to move on, but the tragedy and what happens after the drug is given affect the family and the town.

This book was a little harder to get into, probably because of the way it is structured. The book is done in acts and scene like the script of a play. This is fitting because the main character, Rebecca, is an actress. The story shifts from her being on stage to great applause to being interviewed by the police. Seth is another main character in the book. He is the leaders of an art group called the Friday Folly, who meet to discuss art and socialize. The group becomes like a cult by the way the member will do anything to please Seth, even if it harms their own personal lives. The chaos grows when Seth disappears and the group starts to tear apart and secrets come to light.
I would recommend this book to thriller and mystery lovers both.

Cassie and her sister Sid are not only siblings, they are best friends. But, with the happenings of daily life they find it hard to keep in touch. Sid suggests they write each other letters and through these letters secrets and/or confessions are revealed. Cassie makes a huge mistake with the letters that broadcasts the letter on the internet. This brings an audience waiting to see what happens or what will be disclosed next. I really liked this book because it is a lighthearted read and felt like this could happen to anyone.
