This book has been updated (2019) to reflect the changes since the White Christian Nationalist movement became more visible to the general public.
Covers the horrific propaganda that purveyors of hatred have used in the past to justify hatred toward other human beings. Of course this book was published in 2001, the author might have had to add at least one more chapter, covering the current abherent myths and beliefs being preached by the far-right.
It is about time a really good introduction to Asatru and Norse Paganism has come along that emphasised inclusion. Truth is, in Norse creation myth anyway, life is given to the first humans Askr and Embla from whom all humanity descends. And Lofn, for example (my opinion), is a Goddess of inclusion and civil rights in general. Ancestors/heroes should include those who had worked toward those goals.

Read the book as a great introduction to a nrm or new religious movement.

The book is also a good source for understanding the folkish, hierarchial, fascist organizations. I have always maintained that McNallan and his organization was racist. Yet the bleed over of membership from his organization to other "universalist" organizations was problematic at best.
Highly recommend the author's works on new religions, nrm's and cults. He has wrtten several.
I have recommended this book since it's initial release. Outdated now but this is a classic book that every good antiracist should have read by now. It covers despised figures such as David Lane and Stephen McNallan. Stephen McNallan has more recently been known for claiming that a Beowulf Lead role that was played by a man of color, was "white face", and for starting an all white church. I have ALWAYS maintained that his group was racist and it's members should be avoided. And that bleed over of membership into "universalist" organizations was problematic at best.
Read the original in 1991 to add to my NRM studies collection, it certainly turned some seekers away from wicca, and angered many wiccans. This is the one book you'll ever need to understand the early history of Gerald Gardner's wica, later wicca. You will learn how and why he, with help from Doreen Valiente, invented his new "old religion". You will learn that the other denominations of wicca can be said to be "Gardnerian", meaning the core ritual elements (circle casting, etc...) are taken from Gardnerian practices. This book is certainly known to have angered some wiccans because of it's objective straightforwardness. Some wiccan authors were ridiculously upset that the author had gone back to the Catholic faith, and expressed this in writing. Why recommend this book to wiccan readers? Because everyone should know about the origins of their chosen spirituality.
There is very little in the early wiccan material on the subject of ethics. The common recited phrase is, "If it harms none, do as you will". Unfortunately although it looks similiar to the golden rule, it is not. The golden rule has a safeguard whereas the wicca phrase only appears to have one.
The oldest religion in the world, had a significant influence on the early Christians.
The print hardcopy and the ebook have been read and reread, but listening was a pleasant experience and the narrator is superb.
A truly illuminating read. A potent antidote against the bonds of dogmatic literalism. Entertaining hilarious fun read.
Read along with ENERGIZE! both sources for the Five Tibetans or Energizers. Easy to learn and put into practice. Free from any religious dogma, thus easily adapted by almost anyone of reasonable physical health.
A history lesson. Read his other Elements book Islam with this book.
Read this along with The New Jim Crow, if you have not yet read The New Jim Crow.
Warning! Failure to read this book may lead to downfall of the free world.
One of the most relevant reads you can possibly encounter. Slightly dated but highly relevant.
As of 2022 a "banned" book. A very important contribution to holicaust surviver's literature. The comic format appealed to me then for sure. The story itself is gripping. Read both 1 and 2.
