I feel the writer never spent any time researching tattoo artists, shelter animals, the legal system or really anything else she incorporated in this story. Nothing connected, even when the writer tried to make a "feel good Christian ending", I was left knowing I'd never get back the hour I spent reading this story.

I remember reading this book in junior high and feeling very moved, very emotional.
Re-reading Flowers for Algernon recently brought back all those memories, but I also realized how intense of a read this story actually was. The relationships, the characters...I appreciate them much more now that I have an understanding of the world.

I had the opportunity to read this book and provide insight and edits while it was being written. The author is brilliant and has an amazing imagination - the final product makes me giddy for the next novel.
Memoirs of an Antihero reads very much like a graphic novel, and Drew is so incredibly (but not overly) descriptive that the characters and the scenes are right there with me.
