Darren's destiny was to either kill the Lord of the Vampaneze or to be killed by the Lord, and later in the future, one will become Lord of the Shadows and shall rule the world with Mr. Tiny; therefore, all of man-kind will be destroyed. One thing for sure, Darren will not back down. Not when the Lord of the Vampaneze was his best friend Steve Leonard who is now his archenemy. Mr. Tiny has carefully planned out their desstiny since birth, and it won't fail him easily. At least not yet anyways......
This book by Darren Shan, Sons of destiny, filled my head as I was reading through it with joy, wonder, sadness, love and hatred. I loved Sons of destiny in particular out of every other books in the series because it reveals the theme in this book. The theme: you can change and control your own destiny, and nobody else can stop you. In this book, Darren had trying to search for Steve to carry out his destiny as Mr. Tiny told him to, but Darren didn't like his destiny; thus, he tried to change it. He's thought of many ways, but none of them worked. In the end, Darren kills Steve, show more but not entirely; he has left strength in Steve so that Steve can kill him as well. Finally, Steve kills Darren and dies himself. By sacrificing himself, Darren has changed his destiny that Mr. Tiny had planned for him. Desmond Tiny couldn't stop it. I think the theme is not just a theme in only this book, but as well for the whole series.
I loved the whole series! They were the best books I've read in my whole life, and I don't plan on forgetting them in a while. I would suggest this book to everyone out there who LOVES vampire stories and those who love twists and turns. Darren Shan the Sons of Destiny: best book ever.

Percy Jackson, the fearless, successful hero in the demigod world sets off into another quest of finding the monster that Artemis, goddess of the moon, was trying to hunt down and kill. Prophecy states that five shall go west (San Francisco) to the goddess in chains, one will be lost in the land without rain (the junk yard of the gods), hunters and campers will have to work together, and that one shall perish by a parent's hand. The hunters of Artemis accompanies campers: Percy, Grover, Thalia and Bianca di Angelo on the quest to San Francisco to find the goddess and Annabeth. The quest begins with brave Percy leading.
This story first begins in a military academy in Bar Harbor, Maine at a castle like place: Westover Hall. This is the place where Grover, the satyr, discovers two demigods, son and daughter of Hades, Lord of the Dead. It was at Westover Halls where Annabeth sacrificed herself to save the others: she threw herself on the monster and they two fell off a cliff. Later after that, Percy, with great sorrow, returns to Camp Half-Blood with the hunters who came to help them fight the monster. Camp Half-Blood is a secret demigod sanctuary: a camp for demigods where they learn to protect themselves from monsters and to kill monsters. It is located on Long Island, New York. The camp can only be entered by half-bloods. Percy was given a quest by the Oracle to go west to the goddess in chains. On their way to the west, they approached the junk yard of the gods: it's show more where gods store their junk. The junk yard was a messy place. Bianca somehow glimpsed the toy action figure that her brother needed to complete his collection, and she picked it up causing Talos to wake. Bianca sacrificed herself to destroy the monster and save the others: one will be lost in the land without rain. Immediately after her death, with great sadness, Percy, Grover, Thalia and Zoƫ moved on west towards San Francisco, located on the very west side of the United States. Once they reached their destination, they realized that they were running out of time. As time ticked by, they continued quickly to the Garden of Hesperides, then to the Mountain of Despair on California's Mount Tamalpais where Mt. Othrys, the Titan capital is located. They soon finds out that the goddess was in grave danger and that Annabeth was held hostage. Everything happened then and there.
The Titan's Curse, written by Rick Riordan has a captivating hook at the beginning that kept me up reading all night in order to finish it. I can't wait to read the next book again! It's filled with twists and turns that keeps getting better and better. I would honestly read this book over and over as many times as I want to if I had the time.
