From what i read about Memiors of a Geisha, it was pretty good i'm not going to lie!
This book was about a young girl being enslaved to another place, learning and forced to become a geisha. She was seperated from her family, friends, and her sister.

I did not get very far in the book, and that is because -in my opinion- it got really boring, but part of that is also my fault because i really didn't put any effort into it, and actually giving it a chance, but like i said before, what I read was good. If I read the whole book, from beginning to end, I'm sure I would like it. I always hear great rewiews about this book, so I'm sure it's just me not even making an attempt.

In a way, I guess I wasn't really drawn to this book, starting off with thecover and reading it it just started off a little slow, plus I just kept wondering into my own thoughts which is why I put the book down. Baiscally i just gave up and I shouldn't have. So if' it's one thing I learned it is to not judge a book by it's cover, and to at least give it chance.

I must say i was a little iffy on this book in the beginning, especially since the book started out slow. As i continued to read, i fell in love with this book instantly. So many questions that were STILL unanswered lead me to just keep reading.
Little Bee is about a nigerian girl and a magazine editor named Sarah O' Rourke who spontaneously collide lives together after a tragic incident.
Little bee is in a detention center, due to being captured and being sent away from Nigeria due to oil wells and war. She escapes the detention center and decides to go visit Andrew, the man she met on the beach with her sister. When she get there, it's his funeral day. Turns out Andrew died from suicide and ironically he died 2 days after she called him to warn him about paying him a visit.
Are starting to curious yet, about this book?

Sarah O' Rourke is the top editor in chief for a magazine ... Things start to go downhill in her relationship once she has her son, Charlie. When Andrew and Sarah start to not get along her world becomes hell, which leads her to infidelity with her colleague at work. Andrew eventually finds out, and Sarah takes them to Nigeria thinking it will mend their relationship back together, but it doesn't.

That's when they meet Little Bee, and trouble starts from there. To make the long story so short Sarah sacrifices her own finger and saves Little Bee's life. That's pretty much the whole reason why, when Little Bee was released from the Detention Center in show more England, she went to go visit Sarah and Andrew. Andrew is was haunted for years by guilt and he goes through a depression, because he feels that he did nothing to help save Little Bee and her sister. He thinks Little Bee is after him, especially since her sister got killed the day they met, which is why he decides to kill himself. Little Bee wanted to visit them because her life was saved!
More things stir up, but i would recommend you reading it to find out as as to WHY. Plus Charlie goes missing, and Little Bee gets deported back to Nigeria...it's crazy, but GOOD!

The author in my eyes is a complete genius. The style of the book is completely different from any other author. He alternates from Little Bee and Sarah on their point of view. We get to read their side of the story and compare contrast on what happened. Little Bee who has a violent story to tell, is entwined to Sarah O' Rourke, who also has a story to tell that's just more complex!

Alternating different persepectives really triggers the creativeness and the details that flow throughout this novel. You learn about an interwoven realtionship between these two characters, seening how they give each strength!

I would definitely recommend this book, because this book will keep you on edge. You're going to want to know what happens next, literally. It is full of mystery, but it's also sad because in this book you will learn about the "truth". About things that happen in the real world: Immigration, detention center, death, infidelity, friendship and a lot more that consists in this book! I enjoyed this book so much, that I won't be surprised if i picked up again in the near future.
