A better than usual pulp ficdtion thriller that incorporates flashbacks to the 1800s. I really liked reading about what it was like to be a medical student at that time. The book started a little slow, but definitely picked up the pace in the middle so I didn't want to put it down.

The Twilight books are not great literature, but they are so fun to read. I just can't put them down.
Amazingingly imaginative. This book is both engrossing and disturbing. Just when you get used to it, the author ups the ante. And as freakish as it is, she makes it all seem kind of normal, too. A must-read for anyone who loves books.
I didn't love this one as much as "She's Come Undone" and "I Know this Much Is True" but still this is a powerful and engrossing book.
Reading this again years after high school: The language is beautiful and the sentiment about past, future, and dreams, takes on a different meaning for me now. The frivolousness of the some of the characters is even more pointless, too.
This story is about a sex tape at a private high school that ruins many lives. It's not Shreve at her best, though. The story, told from different POVs, feels a bit disjointed and the motivation of the characters is not always clear.
A fun mystery that involves the supernatural in New England. Likable characters and a well-paced plot.
The beginning was so upsetting I had to stop reading it for several days, but I'm glad I started it again. It was sweet, sad, engrossing and definitely worth reading.
