My thoughts:
Wow! I truly enjoyed this book!
I was expecting "that" story, you know the one...broken man meets wonderful, innocent woman - turns romantic and she "saves" him. You know - that story.

What I got was so much more than that.
This story is "that"story, but it is also about courage (a lot about courage and bravery), choices, pride, self respect, belief, hope, friendship, family, faults, forgiveness, finding out who you are, accepting others for who they are, love and the power of love - so much about love.

All of the characters are fantastic. Created with a realistic eye for details and a human eye for flaws, the author has filled the book with a host of people that any reader might know or perhaps be. The main characters are rich in personality; they are damaged by their pasts, driven by their desires, hoping for a future and bonded by their fierce desire to survive. The secondary characters, although less detailed in the story, are still well built and draw an emotional reaction from the reader. I found myself laughing, crying, worrying, hoping, angry, on the edge of my seat more than once - - but throughout the book, feeling.

The world that these amazingly strong men and women live in is rife with challenges, some destined to make or break them. They are haunted and shaped by the past, daring to hope for the future.

I loved this story; the characters especially, but it is not for everyone.
It is violent and scary, brutal and raw. It is sexual and sensual, filled show more with emotions that run the reader ragged. It is not all realistic and reasonable. At times some of the ideas are larger than life. It has moments where we glimpse the honesty of the human creature - not all are impressive, but not all are ugly. My favorite parts of the book won't be anyone else's favorite parts. That of course is the best part of a well written book. show less
My thoughts:
This was a great story. It holds mystery, espionage, betrayal, loyalty, fear, and love. The characters are wonderful and carefully constructed. The world building is realistic and precise. The timeline is well paced and the action non-stop. The plot is multi-faceted and intriguing. I enjoyed the read and will be looking to read more from Geri Foster.

IO Tours has a question/rating form for reviewers:
1. Has reading this book caused you to be interested in reading additional novels by this author and would you recommend this book to friends or family who like this genre?
Rating: 10/10 - I loved the book, will definitely be reading more from Geri Foster and would highly recommend it to both friends and family.
2. Do you feel the world or situation was well developed to the point that you were able to visualize it?
Rating: 9/10 - I thought that the world and situation were well developed and the writing was done in such a way that I could easily see the book play out in my mind.
3. Did the author engage you to the point that you had a hard time putting the book down?
Rating: 10/10 - I read the book in one sitting. It helped that I had the day off to read, but I have a huge stack of books I both need and want to read and I never felt the urge to switch to something else. I couldn't wait to find out what would happen next and I very badly wanted to find out what would become of Abby and Tony and their formerly failed relationship.
4. Were you emotionally connected to the show more secondary characters?
Rating: 8/10 - I was connected to the secondary characters, some emotionally - I guess maybe all - some on a "What a scum!"level and others in a much more positive way.
5. Were the characters believable?
Rating: 9/10 - Yes, the characters were believable. I always find it uncomfortable that books about government and espionage are filled with both amazingly good and amazingly bad characters, but I found them all to be well done and realistically created.

Rating: 10/10 - I found the entire story to be incredibly well paced. The scene changed between countries, people and intricate parts of the plot. All was done in a successful effort to keep the reader engaged.
7. Was the dialogue in the story believable and interesting?

There were some places where I struggled with the interactions of couples ease at walking away from the situation, but that doesn't make it less believable - just makes the character more realistic.
8. Were the love scenes satisfying and appropriate to the story and characters?
Rating: 9/10 - I thought that the love scenes were both satisfying and appropriate. I personally have issues with infidelity, but that is my issue.
9. Overall, how did you like this book?
Rating: 10/10 - I truly enjoyed the book, from the first page I was hooked and was both saddened and thrilled at the end. Sad that it was over but thrilled with the way it all worked out.

Loved it - fantastic characters - sweet, over-the-top romance - themepark ride of a plot.
I love Iris Johansen's books. I was on the edge of my seat with this one the whole time. Montalvo is such an interesting man, but Miquel is my favorite character in this book. This is fast paced and action packed.
I love Iris Johansen's books, this was no exception. I was intrigued by the addition of Beth Avery and her relationship to Eve. I have come to realize that most of the women in the books seem to be self-absorbed and varying degrees of selfish. Eve's mother is a horrible woman, but until these last few books I didn't see it coming out in Eve - Beth is similar as well. I enjoyed the book. I am looking forward to the rest of the series - who knows...
My thoughts:
This was a great read. The plot is suspenseful, intriguing and twisted. There were times when I wondered if I were the crazy person! I was on the edge of my seat to the very end trying to figure out who the killer was! This book is well written, original and clever. The characters are well built and believable. It is fast paced, multifaceted and has a depth you wouldn't expect. Even at the end, when you know who killed Charlie - you are left wondering who was guilty of what.
My thoughts:
I read a lot of Koontz when I was younger. 13 books in a couple weeks once, had to quit reading his stories because I started to be afraid to go out in the dark by myself - I got over it! I was thrilled when I got this audio book as a gift even though I had read it during what I called my "Koontz phase." Many of the books had run together in my memory because I read so many in such a short period of time, but this one always stood out as truly scary and one of my favorites. I was shocked at how much of the story had been lost by time and I found myself driving out of my way so I could listen longer in my car.

Koontz has created a wonderfully imaginative, dark story of evil at its finest. But what stood out the most for me were the characters. Koontz has given us astounding characters, my favorite being Thomas. The development of Thomas is sheer brilliance. Thomas has Downs Syndrome and lives in a care facility. The insight and understanding that went into the creation of Thomas is incredible. All of the characters are fantastic. They are well developed, cleverly written and span such a wide scope of personalities, abilities, and characteristics that it is hard to imagine that someone could create them and they seem as if they are truly real people. The evil that is Frank's brother Candy is terrifying. His sisters are frightening on a whole other level. The doctor that we meet is evil of another kind, and I found myself revolted by his part in the family show more history and him as a person. Koontz has a way writing his characters so you love and hate them as readily as Bobby and Julie do in the story.

The setting of the story varies as Frank "travels" and we learn about the places that he goes. The descriptions of the people, places and things that are encountered on the travels are vivid and clever. Koontz is a master wordsmith and draws the reader into the story with his language, creativity and imagination. Well worth the read - or the listen.

My Thoughts:
This is a wonderfully creative story. Well planned and well paced. I enjoyed the characters immensely. What I fell in love with though was the idea behind the story. The idea of people's perceptions: of themselves, of others and of what the world should be like.
I love the comparison of the belief systems of the two main characters, Zoe and Noah. Noah's belief in faith and God drives him while Zoe believes in science, technology and the absence of religion. Although they appear to be as different as two people can be, they find themselves believing in each other.
This is not your typical "good vs evil" story. Although there is an obvious bad guy, the story isn't necessarily about him or even a battle against him. This also is not your typical YA love story. It is a love story, it is about battles against good and evil, right and wrong. Perception seemed to me to be more of a story of the battle each character has within themselves, what they believe and who the believe in and why.
Lee Strauss has created a fantastic and harsh world. She has filled that world with characters that fall into two categories, Naturals and GAPS, and the two groups are worlds apart on almost every level. To achieve this variety takes insight, imagination, an open mind, and dedication to detail in every aspect of the story.
This is the beginning...I can't wait to read the rest!
My thoughts:
Another great story by L.M. Pruitt! Action, adventure, romance, good vs. evil - a little bit of everything that makes a reader thrilled to keep turning the pages. The characters are wonderful! The relationships are tricky and endearing. The interaction between the characters keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. The reality of "the bumps" is an intriguing twist! I can't wait for more!
My thoughts:
Engaging, entertaining, enthralling. Subversive grabs you at the beginning of the story, holds you tight with passionate characters and doesn't let go through the twists and turns of an imaginative and twisting plot.

The world that Rebecca Royce has created is dark and dangerous. The mind-blowing reality of the world that Rachel lives in is cold and calculated. The story is about betrayal and loss, love and the idea of doing the right thing for what is at that time the right reason.

I would have a hard time choosing between the story and the characters if I had to say which was more compelling to me as a reader. The story is creative, clever and fresh. The characters are a wide variety of personalities, but each elicits an emotional response. Rachel is a strong female lead. She is charismatic, tough and driven. I feared yet another love triangle for a bit as I wasn't sure about her boyfriend issues, but they become clear at the end. My favorite character is Deacon. He is the not-so-silent type, but left me feeling throughout the story that he was the "real deal" as far as the boys in Rachel's life went.

I was sad to see the story end and am hoping for more to come in this series.
My Thoughts:

I truly enjoy Steampunk. I am fairly new to the genre, but then I believe that the genre itself too is fairly new. I started reading Steampunk when a friend recommended Soulless, I have been hooked since.

I read The Girl in the Steel Corset and fell in love with the characters, so I was thrilled to see another book. I am hoping this is one of many more to come in this series.

Kady Cross has an imaginative mind and the creativity and talent to bring that imagination to life. She has created wonderful characters and set them in a world that is both strange and thrilling. Her characters vary in personality and combine to bring the reader a fascinating story. The story reads fast - adventure on every page.

Griffin is the glue that holds his hap-hazard family together, they may not all always like each other, but they all always love him. Because of that, they find themselves on an adventure to save Jasper.

The underlying question? What would you do for love?

Can Jasper save Mei? Can Finley help save Jasper without losing herself? Can they all work together to save them all?

Entertaining, clever, fast-paced, wonderfully written.
My thoughts:
This was my first Krista Holle story as well as my first selkie story. I am a fan of paranormal and was excited about it. Krista Holle did not disappoint. This story is clever and intriguing, bitter and sweet.

The author has built a world that is both realistic and fantastic. The old-world, historic feel paints the perfect setting for the story and she has created a colorful and mysterious legendary background for the selkies. The writing is vivid and detailed, assuring that the reader can visualize both the characters and the setting. It has romance, but not a lot of sexuality; the intimate moments in the story are left to the imagination of the reader.

The characters captured me and the creativeness and uniqueness of the story held me. Eamon is a selkie whose ideals and sense of self are seeped in his belief in honor. He is young and reckless. At the start he is out for revenge, but then falls in love. He believes that to be true to Kait he must give up the sea. Kait is bewitched at the start by Eamon's lure, but falls in love with him. This is their story, of their love and willingness to do whatever it takes to prove that love.

This story is carefully created, nicely paced and well-written. I would easily recommend it to others. I read purely for the entertainment and enjoyment of the story and I was thrilled to have had the opportunity to discover what this book had to offer.
My thoughts:
This was a fun twist to the Cinderella story of old. Prince charming is a vampire. Cinderella is a werewolf. Of course there is a ball and that is where they will hook up - - - but the last time they saw each other she bit him! I enjoyed the read very much. The characters are nicely developed and easy to invest in. Dunstan, the king's advisor, is my favorite character; I found myself seeing people I know in him. The author has set her characters in a world where paranormal is normal and humans are the "odd man out" so to speak.
Well written, entertaining, and worth the read for certain.
I wish the story had been longer and am hoping to see more from Veronica Blade.
Another fantastic read by Moira Rogers!
Once again we are given truly fantastic characters and a situation that will forge unending partnerships or leave destruction in it's path.
Fast-paced, action-packed, well-written, fully-developed characters, and a diverse, carefully built setting all put together with a fantastic story.
The technology and world building in this one is different from anything I have read recently. Cleverly planned and creatively designed - this is one you don't want to miss out on.
Wow! This one has it all! Non-stop action, hot and sexy characters, betrayal, smokin' romance, and a thrilling plot.
Mal Olson has set her story, bless her, in the Midwest. Wisconsin is not the place that comes to mind when you hear blood diamonds, international terrorists, or even FBI investigation; but we get all that and more in this fast paced, well-written story. She has built a realistic setting and filled it with characters that capture your heart upon opening the book. Shannon is fantastic. She is strong, courageous, determined, loyal, trusting, and real. Tony is truly the man we have all dreamed of and searched for. It's called the "Crazaniak Effect" in the story - you freefall for this man! He is driven, dedicated, compassionate, kind, sexy as the day is long, strong, smart, and brave. The bad guys are terrifying. The good guys shine. I even loved the cat!
Mal Olson has written a story that holds the reader captive, driven to turn the pages faster and faster because you absolutely must know what happens next. This is an exceptional story and I cannot wait to read more.
My Thoughts:
This story is original, nicely paced and well-written. The characters are carefully constructed and realistic (even considering the supernatural aspect of the story). Jade is wonderful, although there are moments when she is just a little too teenage girl, you have to give her those moments because of what she is going through. I was thrilled with the premise of the book, angels on earth - fallen, yet pure still, protectors who can change forms, ancient evil, and the ability to call animals to aid. I enjoyed the storyline and was pleased with the way Lilith is portrayed and the way her character plays out her part in the book, she is truly cruel and evil. I am still curious about Blake and his part. Nate and Claire are fantastic characters and I am hoping for more back story in books to come. Avan is great, wouldn't we all love to meet the guy so perfect an angel would fall from heaven to be with. The ending is a shocker and a HUGE cliffhanger! I can't wait for the next book.
My Thoughts:
This is a completely new and different feel for the werewolf story. It hints at the supernatural and ritualistic from the start and delivers in the end. I enjoyed the characters, but the plot is the driving force. Hecate was an interesting and unexpected touch. Lauren is a strong, driven woman with a sense of purpose and a desire for justice. The language is wonderful, Dan O'Brien is a master at visual description. The story is fast paced and dramatic. I loved the idea of a man who wished to be a monster and a monster who wished to be a man...the story was wonderful. This story has a little bit of everything ~ horror, mystery, romance, thrills, chills, and a bit of supernatural. I hope there are more Lauren Westlake stories to come - I will be looking for them!
My Thoughts:
Wow - I don't even know how to start this review - - - this is my favorite book in the series. Absolutely fantastic read! The characters that I fell in love with in books one and two are back once again with an amazing story. This fast paced thriller is non-stop. From the first page to the end, I couldn't put it down. This is an inspiring story of love and sacrifice. It's about the choices we make and how they affect those around us. It is both entertaining and intriguing. This story questions greed, power, family, friends, right, wrong, and what it means to truly love someone. What you would sacrifice for love? Would you give up the person you loved most in all the world for the good of mankind? Do NOT miss this incredible finale.
My thoughts:
I was captured by the first paragraph. Vivi Anna brings Kirsten and the story to life in this well-written, clever, fast-paced novella. Lost is vividly descriptive and filled with carefully created characters. The emotions running through the story are strong and compelling. The relationships seem to appear simplistic on the surface, but run deep and strong in the hearts of the characters. The many facets of the lives in Bandit Creek are intriguing. This is a great start to what I believe will be a successful series. I can't wait to read more.
My thoughts:
I have to start this review with a quick disclaimer - I LOVE EVERYTHING these women write! Having said that...
Once again I found myself reading about an incredibly strong woman and the ultimate badboy/goodman destined to be together, but struggling to stay apart.

Things I enjoyed about this story: characters, the setting, the storyline, the ending
Things I wish had been different about this story: length and backstory

The characters are wonderful and I was thrilled that it was set in Minnesota because that is where I live, but I was left with some holes that more backstory could have filled and would have happily read at least another hundred pages (or more) about Gabe and Marci.
All-in-all, another fantastic installment from these clever wordsmiths - well worth the read.
My thoughts:
Incorporeal is my first ghost romance and I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to read it. Wonderful story! Sweet, romantic, a bit on the spicy side - it has a little bit of everything; mystery, suspense, history, demons, guardians, ghosts, friendship, fear, loss, love...
I loved that it questions the value of time ~ what would be important to you if you knew you had a timeframe?
The characters are amazing! The main and supporting characters all drew a strong reaction. Sara and Nathan of course are my favorites, but some of the supporting characters left lasting impressions.
The editor - Leah - horrible woman.
The best friends - Geri and Dalton - created in the image we all hold of the women we want to spend our time with.
The author has given Nathan the ability to learn to use various powers and was a pleasure to watch how that unfold. The relationship between Sara and Nathan was both playful and serious, but also at times, so much more than what most people are given.
The story was well written and entertaining. I enjoyed the twists and turns in the last few chapters. The end was not exactly what I was expecting, but so nicely done. I closed the book with a sigh, loving the finish but wishing there was more.
My thoughts:
This was my first dragon shifter story. I was impressed. I was fascinated by the imagination and creativity that went into creating the dragons, their powers, and their world.
The characters are fabulous. Every young man should have a bit of Darien in them (although there were moments in the beginning where I worried he would be wishy washy - he's not)! Tai is a great combination of independence, strength, stubborness, and vulnerability. The author has created wonderfully developed characters that tug at your heart from the start.
The world she has built for them is complex and modern, but still holds to traditions and superstitions that seem outdated. I can't imagine a world in which a girl can attend high school with honors courses in science, but still end up being the sacrifice to the dragon god. Good thing that JF Jenkins could so she could bring us this great story.
The story is nicely paced and easy to follow. It is filled with mystery and intrigue, as well as wonder, faith, love, betrayal, loyalty, sorrow and joy. I found myself emotionally invested in the story early on and was sad to turn the last page.
Don't miss out on reading this one!
My thoughts:
This is an incredible story! The beginning is stunning, gripping, and terrifying. Once I read the prologue I was hooked. This is a masterfully crafted story of corruption and greed as well as compassion and the driving belief in doing the right thing.
The characters are wonderfully constructed, each with a complex life and belief system that makes them come alive from the pages. Lou is fabulous. His profound sense of right and wrong as well as his willingness to see life from all angles makes him stand out, even among the many well-built characters in this book. I was impressed with his ability to co-parent with such a supportive and positive attitude after what had to be a heart breaking divorce and a long, hard road to recovery. He and Cap are both role models that every 12-step program dreams of.
The complex story line and multifaceted plot keep the reader turning the pages, always looking forward to learning one more tidbit in the mystery. The writing is vivid and imaginative, so much so that you literally "see" the story unfold in your mind in full color. Joey's "pets" are the stuff of true nightmares; the descriptions alone left me cringing and shaky.
Great characters make a story for me, but this book has it all - great characters (both the "good guys" and the "bad guys", an intriguing mystery, conflict on a number of levels, and a little bit of a romance. An all around great read.
My thoughts:
I truly enjoyed this book. The characters are well developed and easy to invest in. The story is wonderfully written and nicely edited. Cate Kalen has a way with words and the ability to put the reader on the edge of their seat. I never would have guessed that this was a debut novel, this is quality writing!
Pride and Logan are both fantastic characters, you can't help but fall in love with them. Stone, now he's another story; as a reader, I both loved and hated him depending upon where I was at in the book. Cate Kalen has filled this story with emotional turmoil and you ride that roller coaster of heartache, sacrifice, desire, longing, fear, and hope on every page. A fantastic addition to YA paranormal. Don't miss out on this one. I am barely able to wait for the second installment of Pride's story!
My thoughts:
Wonderfully written. This is a story of loss and fear, anger, violence, and injustice; but it is also a story of hope, friendship, loyalty, courage and love. Emotionally gripping and almost impossible to put down.
The characters are carefully created and drive the story, compelling the reader to turn the pages. I found myself so invested into the emotions and situations of Coral Moore's amazing characters that I was drawn completely into the story, laughing and crying with the characters as their lives were unfolding.
I am torn as to who is my favorite character.
Brand is tormented by guilt from his past combined with both fear of and desire for what the future holds for him and his kind. His sheer will to protect and improve the lives of the wolves is astonishing; and his willpower puts most to shame.
Dagny is...wow, what can a person say about her? She is incredible. Her spirit is unbreakable. She is the perfect match for Brand.
Alice is one of the most powerful characters in the book. Gunni too, talk about courage!
Coral Moore has written a well paced, superbly woven tale that brings the reader to the very edge of that emotional cliff. She has filled it with a thought provoking story, led by powerful characters. Although the ending brings completion to issues and satisfaction to the conflicts, I was left wanting more...more pages! It ended before I was ready to walk away from the characters. So I plan to read everything else I can by Coral Moore, show more especially if it's about the Broods of Fenrir. show less
My thoughts:
This was my first Natalie Anderson read and I loved it! Hunter and Emma are wonderfully created characters. They interact from the start with fun, flirty personalities.
An entertaining, fun, fast read. I enjoyed the characters, the setting, and the story. The ending was exactly what I was hoping for. I only wish it had been longer. I look forward to reading many more stories by Natalie Anderson!
Once again L.M. Pruitt has created characters that are amazing. Frankie is fantastic! She is smart, tough, stubborn, and loyal to the few she counts as friends. She is my favorite character in the story.
The story itself is wonderfully entertaining, nicely paced and well written. The plot is intriguing and suspenseful.
I truly enjoyed the book. The ending SCREAMS for a sequel....
My thoughts:
Wonderful story! Sara Trimble has created fantastic characters. Gabriel is truly a dream man and Nala is the perfect combination of tough and caring. I found myself falling for so many of the supporting characters as well. I enjoyed the way they all interacted and was thrilled with the various powers held by all the different species living in the castle.
Every once in awhile I felt like the story skipped a bit, not so much that I would be lost, just that I would notice, but I truly enjoyed reading this entertaining, unique, original story.
It's a great love story ~ we see the love of couples lasting through the ages, sharing their fated bonds for the binding ceremonies. The author has combined almost every mythical creature and species into this clever, engrossing, beautiful story. We are given the opportunity to bear witness to: struggle, destiny, love, jealousy, fear, forgiveness, misunderstanding, denial, acceptance, determination, and drive.
I will be looking for more from Sara Trimble!
My quick review: Lizzy Ford has created incredible characters! Her well-developed, strong characters carry the story, which is creative, intriguing and original. The plot draws you in and holds you. It is well written and nicely paced. Totally worth the read! I can't wait to start book two!
Once again, Lacey Weatherford has demonstrated her ability to craft a magnificent tale that is dark and dangerous, but filled with love and hope.
Of Witches and Warlocks continues with The Dark Rising and Wow! You are not ready for this one!
Hold on for the ride of your life as Portia and Vance continue to battle the darkness. Will their love be enough? Wonderfully written. Couldn't put it down!
