You expect it to be a behind-the-scenes and it's just not. You do learn how to be an obnoxious hotel guest, but it is clear throughout that he just is so jaded, so uninterested in his career choice, that, by the end/climax, you realize he's just a burned-out, jilted employee with an ax to grind.
