Turtle Moon is my first Alice Hoffman book and remains my favorite. Good story, intriguing characters (like the meanest boy in Verity) and beautiful and vivid imagery. I enjoyed her use of lush and humid Florida as a setting .
This is a delightful book…thoughtful, witty, tender, heartbreaking at times, with a neurotic but endearing main character who I just loved and found myself rooting for. It was a joy to read. The writing is wonderful…it’s one of those books where I marked certain passages because they were so wonderfully written.

A Dirty Job literally does laugh in the face of death.
Moore is brilliant when it comes to dialogue...at times I felt I was watching a Marx Brothers movie. Very funny, but also very touching. The characters were very endearing and nestled among all the zaniness and irreverent humor are some very poignant moments and some thought provoking views on death. It definitely left me "dying" for more Moore. :P
