l loved the Poldark series and have read it many times,a must for lovers of historical sagas. Set in 17th century Cornwall it tells the tale of Ross Poldark, returned from the war to find his father dead, his fiancee engaged to another man and the family home a ruin. He meets a young girl at a fair and when he takes her in as a servant his life changes for ever.
Tale of a man who starts an air charter service in the East after the war.His best friend has a spiritual attitude to the work and inspires all those around him regardless of their denominations. A great read and one of Nevil Shutes best novels.
Fast paced thriller about a man who only finds out he has a son when his son is on a life support machine. Although he never knew him he wants to find the truth about his son,did he attempt suicide or was he murdered?
Interesting autobiography of a Hollywood actor who quit stardom and sailed to Tahiti with his four young children against a court ruling that he couldn't take them out of the U.S.A. An account of his life from childhood, working on ships,in W.W.ll and as a Hollywood actor. He finally ended up as a writer and turned out some good books.
This is one of my favourite childhood books. The story of a horse told in first person, recording his adventures good and bad.Ideal for children who love animals, a classic that has stood the test of time.
