This i probably my favorite Stephen King. It has a great balance between Horror, Reality and Anticipation and kept me hooked all the way through.
fyi, This review is made few years after I read it.

VIEWS: Roman | Der beklemmende Thriller vom Autor des Bestsellers "QualityLand" (German Edition) by Marc-Uwe Kling

It has a great Story I still think about after some Years from reading it.
Good concept for Horror, I especially love all the Creatures. I must critique the ending and somehow allot of Charakters doesn't interest me as much as in other Stephen King novels.
But still great. Difficult to say if i like the book or the movie more. probably the movie because the visuals of the mist itself are so beautifully haunting.

Tough read but great story about science a nice twist on the cosmic horror idea. The first 130 pages are a drag, but afterward it really picks up speed and got me hooked good.
The story is a great thing to talk about i think.
I recommend it if you have the stamina and like sci-fi.

I read this one but without knowledge of the previous books in the serious, so i missed some information. It was still quite enjoyable, fun horror concept as usual. I think the final was a bit lackluster.
Nothing groundbreaking, but i still enjoyed myself reading it.

Amazing story about the irrelevance of everything.
Quite enjoyable and digestible, can recommend.

In spite of me contemplating dropping it after the 150-page mark, I finished it and I really disliked it.
The idea of horror in a fishing setting and some eldritch horror in the background sounds great in concept, but how it is written packs no punch. I don't care about the characters; anticipation is almost always killed before something exciting happens, and all interesting parts were thinned out by needless explanations, expositions, and stories about often not even named side characters.
I don't want to go into the annoying undecisiveness of the plot itself to keep it still spoiler-free, but expect b-lines of unnecessary lore to elongate the book even more.
Anyway, I cannot give this book anything better than one star, for the story it told should not have been longer than 200 pages. Can't recommend.

A really fun combination of Prison break and supernatural government organizations.
I especially like how the two different story's collide and the final had great mental visuals.

Hauntingly fascinating. So horrific i could not not stop myself from reading through it in one session.
Definitive a must read i say.
But nothing for everyone also.. its pretty rough.

Alles in allem sehr kafkaesk.

After 'Tender is the Flesh', I really liked this one aswell. It's less haunting but equally tragic but also hauntingly beautiful written. I felt for the main Charakter, and the bite size feeding of information about the world and her made me more anticipated with every page.
great read, sad book.
great read, sad book.
I favorite Horror novel I read this far.
Difficult to pinpoint what made it so great but I think its the combination of everything. great story, great monster, great charakters, tragicy, revenge, love, brutallity, and its sizable enough to leave you with your thoughts afterwards.
I would place this into my top 10 books of all time.

1984: The dystopian classic reimagined with cover art by Shepard Fairey (Penguin Essentials, 95) by George Orwell
Sheesh, It is probably the mother of all dystopia novels. The world building is great for sure, and i really enjoyed especially the first act and the setup.
But reading it is extremely depressing. There is no hope only put in to be crushed. Definitely nothing if you want some form of gratification or happy end.

Nothing groundbreaking but a fun an short thriller. the Idea of the floor-plans included as pictures and the resulting speculations were really fun but all that felt a bit irrelevant to the end. In the climax, I was a bit disappointing.
I don't think there was anything i didn't like about it. It really was throbbing with vibe.
Sehr gut.

Not the version of the book i read, mine contained also The "Rocking-chair" and "old water".
But an absolute great feminist horror (?) short story.
Hugely interpret-able, but it non the less packs a punch even over those 35 pages.

Animal Farm: The dystopian classic reimagined with cover art by Shepard Fairey (Penguin Essentials, 94) by George Orwell
Not bad, great metaphor for social inequality and power and more. Also the animals hat allot of personality which made it even them more sad how it all played out.
honestly a drag sadly. I really needed to push myself to finish it. I find Vonneguts ideas charming, and his writing style entertaining, but in this one there was a complete lack of a red line throughout it with time jumps almost every chapter. It's also somehow semi autobiographical (i'm not certainly sure about this thoug) but it really clashes wih the fiction parts of the book.
