An interesting look at the "before times" in the lead up to the Silos being lived in. The period before felt quite rushed but gave a good background to the minds of the people who planned it all.
Throughout the book we are brought up to the end of the first Silo book (or the Wool series of short books). Solo's life in the Silo is explored, with the chapters on Shadow are a beautiful break and insight into his humanity.
Donald in Silo 1 experiences quite a transformation of character as it dawns on him what he has been a part of and what the implications are.
Looking forward to reading Dust later in the year and closing the series out.
