I really didn't like this. It was not quite the utter catastrophe that the movie was, but still a waste of time. Not recommended.
This is just utterly gorgeous, and I follow Charles's adventures with bated breath every week. Can't wait for the second book.
Don't touch this unless you're a Castle fan. As a tie-in to the show it's hilarious, but unfortunately the writing's quite abysmal.
Whoa, that was quite the ride. Jonathan's damn lucky Bran actually managed to act on his insights in the end -- he messed that up pretty good. Almost lost me as a reader there somewhere in the middle. In hindsight I wish there would have been a hint more reveal of the development of that insight along the way, rather than it crashing in a big wave at the end, but then that might not have worked, I don't know. Having just put it down I'm still too aware of having been squicked out of my comfort zone a couple of times. I'm still glad I stayed with it. It's certainly a powerful read that will stay with me for a while, and I'll definitely pick up the next one in the expectation that the very rough part is over and we can get back to hot and squee. ;)
While this got off to a slow, somewhat stumbling start, the guys did get under my skin in the end. I can quite hate protags as dense as Griff, but, man, he's a hard one to hate. Over all minus 1 star for structural issues, but 4 stars for characters and heat! baby (a double-syllable damn!)
I didn't even get to put this up as 'currently reading', because I kinda inhaled it. Sweet and romantic and hot as fuck, it works from beginning to end. The setting works, the characters work, the plot works, because those authors clearly know what they're doing, and this little romance is as perfectly conceived and executed as they come.
And the cover rocks.

Holeeee fuck. That was the best thing I read in a long time. I just didn't want it to end. Ever.
I was merely going to have a peek at the first chapter, since I don't have the iPad and don't like to read on the desktop screen. Good plan. In theory. Before the story grabbed me by the neck, jerked me in first one direction, then another, got me hot and cold and then spit me out four hours later breathless and begging for more.
It's rare to find a book that has everything done right. This is it.

I felt like this could have been better put together; it felt just a bit shoddy and contrived in places, but on the whole I liked it well enough. A good rainy weekend read.
What a fun, feel-good story. I really enjoyed that.
Now this is what I'm talking about -- some squee, a little squick, lots of hot, and a continuous exploration of what makes us who we are. It poses some uncomfortable questions and is perfectly fine with letting the reader come to their own conclusions.
A beautifully crafted mind-fuck.

We didn't click. The almost formal language kept me at a distance and the length of the story clashed with the depth of the conflict, leaving me at the surface, like watching through glass. I can see the beauty, I just can't connect with it (which might say more about me than about the story, so take it with a grain of salt).
That was not a roller coaster, that was an avalanche. I'm still working on getting my breath back. Mind-blowingly sensual, and the action never stops. If you're prone to nailbiting, wear falconers gloves or something. Whoa! Seriously.
(4.5 stars for minor niggles and edit misses)
Hell yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Hard, hot!!!, fun, smart, action-packed, and still enough awwwww... inside to keep my inner shipper happy.
Had to put it down for RL reasons after the first few pages, but I inhaled it when I picked it back up.

Somewhere between 3 and 4 stars - can't decide.
A somewhat wistful and forlorn story, because the hero is essentially a lonely man, and that didn't change for me, despite fulfilled wishes, so the HEA is a melancholic one. Maybe it's because Kalani never really came alive for me (pardon the pun); he works as a catalyst rather than a second main character. But I found I didn't mind that; it fit well with the otherworldly plot.
The one part that really annoyed me was that little three-way background exposition concerning Kalani's parents. Like fixing a hole in a fine art print with duct tape.
Apart from that, it's absolutely beautifully written, engages all the senses and makes the world it is set in come superbly alive on the page.
Can't wait for the next Belleau/Vane.
A solid 5 stars for part 1. Unfortunately the story fell apart for me after that. I love Anderson as a character, his voice, his story. I kept wishing CJ would just shut up and let Anderson tell the story.
The whole concept is amazing and had me glued to the screen and ranting when I got interrupted. Starting with part 2 I suddenly felt like I'd been handed a switch baby, like reading a different author. I got caught up again in part 3, but 4 and 5 lost me completely.
I'm not sorry I read it and, knowing what I know now, would pick it up again. It's just such a brilliant exploration of responsibility, culpability and human needs. But I can't help being disappointed in the ending and wondering what happened there.

Craft meets art in a perfect union. Brilliantly written, this story is short only in the number of pages. In every other respect it goes a long way and is so full -- of imagery, of emotions, of detail, of relevance that it might have burst its format at the seams were it not plotted to such a fine point. The setting is as bleak as they come, but amazingly the story, though utterly unsentimental, is not. A rare privilege to read.
Now, that's what I' m talking about. Makes me want to start the next one right away. Why does one need to sleep?
Could someone please restart my brain for me now? It shorted out. That was pure, unadulterated, sizzling hot pleasure on every level. I can't wait for more Market Garden. And I hope we'll get another glimpse of these two.
*sigh* That was one hell of a feel-good story. I can only hope the next one doesn't break my little shipper heart.
That was a rollicking good yarn. Tight, fast paced, with snappy dialogue - exactly how I like my sci-fi action.
Holy hell. That was all kinds of amazing. I think Devon and Nicky just got company on my top kink shelf. I just want to read this over and over. So. Well. Done.
Holy hell. I think I'm going to be sick, or have whiplash, or both. What an emotional roller-coaster.
Definitely the best one yet. Did I mention 'Holy hell'?

Yes, yes, and yes. That was exactly what I wanted after book one.
Love the way Spencer turns from a stressed-out wreck to this quiet, strong guy who's found his calm centre (in Nick).
Always amazing and gratifying to see what authors who know their shit can pack into a bit of porny fluff. This series has hooked me hard.

Whoa. Brilliant.
Read a few reviews and am floored by how many reviewers don't consider this a 'true' romance. It's a quiet book, for sure, and it takes a while to build up steam (though the second half has very good pace and tension IMO), but if this isn't romance, then the romance genre has strayed from the original sense of the word beyond any recognition. For me this is a romance in the most classical sense of the word.

Great, perfectly authentic voice. And imagery to die for. Makes me hungry for more from these authors.
What a nice little romp. I really enjoyed that.
