The usual excellent National Geographic Society photographic coffee table, reference book.
Nice Reference book, a bit dated but good plates and floor plans.
Excellent border and flower bed planning reference book.
Excellent gardening guide for DC & the DelMarVa.
It is an epic novel spanning the Stone Age to the late 20th century in the Salisbury Plain. The story is written in the style of the late James Michener.
Fun review of kitschy mid-century Christmas holiday decor, entertaining and recipes. The DNA of the 21th Century "Elf on the Shelf" craze.
Our Prayers and Praise the Order for Daily Morning Prayer and the Order for the Administration of the Lord's Supper Or Holy Communion by Episcopal Church (various)
The perfect devotional prayer book for children with shortened headings and instructive notations, along with notes on the church year and the assemblies, will be helpful throughout the church’s calendar year.
I love this book! It is so valuable when organizing your home.
A living legend, Diana Ross is an ambitious woman with unexceptional talent who managed to be part of and eventually take over as leader of the pioneering Supremes, one of the most significant R&B groups in music history.
Many people found her trying; others admired her persistence: a moving read and an admonitory tale. Once again, the reader learns there's no such thing as fame and celebrity without cost.

Another superb volume of Neweek's Books Great Museums of the World Series.
The Big Book of Words You Should Know: Over 3,000 Words Every Person Should be Able to Use (And a few that you probably shouldn't) by David Olsen
A fun, interesting book for all those who love vocabulary, linguistics and those looking to update their word usage.
It is a warm, powerful, and inspirational chronicle by the former First Lady of the United States. Perfection.
Hiring Contractors Without Going Through Hell: How to Find, Hire, Supervise, and Pay Professional Help by Ellis Levinson
Good reference for first time dealing with Contractors.
Great read for those not familiar with Streisand background and career.
Baltimore has saved amazing building. Unfortunately, the 1904 fire destroyed many buildings we would still have today.
"The 12 Days of Christmas" is another Christmas classic from Robert Sabuda, based on the beloved carol. The pop-ups are all done in classic white with colorful backgrounds, and only small touches of silver and gold add color to them. This Robert Sabuda is a beautiful book to enjoy every Christmas season.
An entertaining crime thriller. It moves swiftly with shocking twists and turns and a good conclusion.
The story was okay and somewhat exciting, but was not what I expected. I did appreciate the basic notion about the trouble of changing the past, which differed from the usual time-travel talk, but it wasn't profound.
I liked the idea of a ship and a train as possible places to explore with a hero who is always right and can do the incredible. Also, I like how many of the references used are or were in existence. I did not like how many political men were involved in the story because it confused who was who—I wondered where the truth was on some historical details. I didn't particularly appreciate how unscrupulous officials can be.
Another good story from Cussler. The usual characters--Pitt, the Admiral, Pitt's gal pal Congressman, and sidekick Al. It is a good adventure story backed up by archaeological research into the Inca civilization. The audio was somewhat distracting at times, switching voices in mid-sentence--it's almost like they patched over some rough spots in the original narration. Fun read without much concentration required.
I love this book. It follows the story of a young boy named James, who goes through life after losing his parents and finds a place to call home. This book is good to show students that no matter what, there will always be a place where they are loved and never alone. And also the importance of individuality and persistence.
It is lengthy to start (Bond himself doesn't appear until a third of the way through), and although the first part is an interesting read from a historical standpoint, it's a slow burner. Consequently, contrary to most other reviews, I found it less enjoyable than the others in the series.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is an excellent story for young readers. It transports them to another world with its use of descriptive language. It helps children to paint mental pictures in their heads. It also offers some outstanding life lessons to young readers.
The Hermitage Collections, Boxed Edition: Volume 1, History and Masterworks, Volume 2, Age of Enlightenment to Modern Art by Oleg Yakovlevich Neverov
Glorious two volume set by Rizzoli; excellent comprehensive overview of the massive Hermitage Museum collections.
A chronological history of British Royal Treasures: palaces, architecture, furniture, paintings, antiques, jewelry, and more; most illustrations are in black and white with sections of color plates throughout the numerous chapters.
It is an excellent coffee table-sized book filled with the most splendidly beautiful photographs as National Geographic is as well-known to capture as I've ever seen. It also has well-written compositions by nature writers from Audubon, the Smithsonian, Natural History, etc., about bird natural history and conservation efforts. Any bird lover would want this book.
This book has all the lively and humorous features of all the other Babar the Elephant tales, the brightly colored, warm, and friendly drawings of our beloved elephant royalty, the antics and escapades of the elephants themselves, and, of course, our hero, King Babar once again, saving the day, in this book, a most important day, Christmas!
Arthur, Pom, Flora, Alexander, the royal elephant children, and their monkey pal, Zephir, write Father Christmas a wish list letter and are saddened when he doesn't reply; this ultimately leads to Babar's realization that the Elephants' Country needs to be on included on his regular route, so he goes to valiant lengths to make his childrens' wishes come true. Babar and Father Christmas become fast friends, and Father Christmas even takes a much-needed rest in the tropical climate of Babar's country. The way de Brunhoff has drawn Father Christmas is quirky and fun and a bit different from the image we have of him today, but it entirely captures the essence of this beautiful holiday icon. If you have loved other Babar stories, you will surely love it as I did. If this is your first meeting with Babar, it stands alone well.

Beautiful book from content to photography, and even it materials used in its production.
