Overall a good book to help with key moments! Definitely for more of a reference, but the writing style is easy and I enjoyed reading the parts I have so far. I’ll be reaching for this if I need more help while writing!

Overall a very good book! I thought it was a bit slow at times, and there were a couple of parts where the character, Peggy, starts thinking in the middle of narration so there’s a sudden jump to first person from third with no indication (maybe italics would be nice). However, I enjoyed the story, the general concept was interesting, and the characters had lives outside the main plot which was nice. It was also great to see an older main character, who has already had a life and are ready for a new adventure.

A great start to the series, and I can't wait to read more! Overall fun, and a very intriguing story. The world building was tremendous, and I was very easily sucked into what comes next and what the characters were thinking. A fun read, and would definitely recommend.

It was a little tedious at times, but overall a fun read. I read this a while ago and also forgot to review through Librarything, but it was an all right read. I don't think I would go back, but I did finish the book.

Overall, a fun read. I enjoyed following with the mystery and the setting of WWII with a character who could see the dead. That being said, there were a couple of times that I was drawn out of the story by glaring anachronisms. However, even with those moments I would still recommend this book, especially for someone who is looking for a fun, not too intense mystery with some romance.

Fantastic story of Henry VII, at first I thought it was about Henry VIII and I was very confused, but the writing kept me hooked and the characters practically sprang to life from the page. Overall just a well executed historical fiction novel, with explanation of liberties taken at the end, and I can’t wait to read more of the authors work. Great book!

I received this in a LibraryThing giveaway.

I thought this book was well written, but pretty dense. It was a bit hard to read at times just because of that. However, this is a shorter book, but clearly well thought out. Definitely leaves you with some thoughts at the end.

I received this book for free through a LibraryThing giveaway. Really loved this book! The twists were super interesting and kept me motivated to read it - would definitely recommend this to other readers!

When I first got this book, I thought it was one stand alone story. I was very excited to find it was actually a series of short stories! It was very well written and I was very impressed with how different Debris and Detritus were in each story!

I haven't quite finished this book yet, but I wanted to put a quick review up for anyone interested in this book.

Personally, I love it. I've laughed out loud more times than I can count, and the storyline keeps me very invested. Alice, the main character, is only half the story. Actually, probably more like a third of it, but I feel that two parts are going to meet up very soon. I love how witty the author's writing is, and how he takes true historical events and makes connections on how things did or may have happened.

I don't want to write on the characters yet, just because I don't know how they'll change, but if you like comedies, time travel, King Arthur, and dinosaurs, then I would definitely recommend this book. Even if you don't like those things I would recommend it!

I have been a huge fan of Poe for many years. I bought the special, complete edition of all of his tales and other books based on him, like Romancing the Raven by Rob MacGregor - both of which I also recommend. And while this was not a collection of Poe tales, I could feel his influence in them. The collection of short stories were all very well written and had some basis in Poe's work. I did really like how each story started with an author quote about Poe. My favorite part, however, was the "Rather Scholarly View of Edgar Allen Poe" at the beginning, because it gave more of an insight into Poe's life. The stories were all very interesting too, though!

While I liked the book in and of itself, I do have to agree that it seemed to be a bit too short of a time from when Selina was attacked to when she fell in love with Dante; it would definitely have gone over better for me if that was longer than, what was it, a week? Maybe on the next read through I'll like it better though!

This is honestly exactly what I was expecting it to be. That being said, it is definitely one of the better werewolf short stories I've read. It's engaging, yet not too far off the norm. It's a short read - about 19 pages in the epub version, and yet the entire story is developed. I'm really looking forward to more from Grant Palmquist.

Honestly, I haven't really read Lovecraft before, but who hasn't heard of Cthulhu? It was interesting enough that I thought it might be a fun read, and while the short stories are great, the introduction did kinda creep me out a bit and throw me off my game. The stories themselves were a lot of fun and I would definitely recommend this book to friends who like horror stories and/or short stories. I think this is a good read, especially if you're looking for something to creep you out about anything that goes bump in the night.

This book series was great, especially if you enjoy the tv series Supernatural. There are a lot of parallels between the two series, like a family member (Bobby/Flo) who guides the hunters (Peter and Leigh and Mollie/Sammy and Dean and Cas) through their hunting adventures. Some words are left out, and some pronouns are switched, like she and he, but overall it is a very enjoyable read. I really look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Quite honestly, I love Madeline Freeman as a writer - I've also read Crystal Magic, and I plan on reading the sequel, Wild Magic, as soon as it comes out.
Although I didn't read the first book of the trilogy, I still think I understood most of what was going on. It was a very good read, interesting and gripping yet not overly terrifying - that is, I could still go to sleep after reading it. I think I'll check out the first book, Whispers, as well! Looking forward to reading it!

This book was enjoyable, though I wish I would have realized that it was a sequel before I started it. It definitely makes me want to read the first one! Overall, it was a kickback book, which took me only a few days of light reading to finish. I was fully enthralled by Detective Chief Inspector Hayward and his adventures, and I almost felt like I was transported into the story and the times.

I absolutely loved this book! It held my attention from the first chapter to the last, and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. The ideas in the book were great. There were a few times where I literally laughed out loud. I cannot wait until the second book!

If you are looking for a fantasy book that will hold your attention, I definitely recommend this one!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review of this book. Overall, the story was very interesting, but the writing deterred from the story line. The story jumped around a lot and there were points where I had to reread the paragraph again because it seemed like something was left out. The time period seemed to change between ancient and futuristic, which was very confusing at the beginning of the book. The writing was very choppy, as well.

If you're looking for an immersive book, one you can really sink your teeth into, I wouldn't recommend this book. However, for a mindless read, this one had just enough action to keep it from being boring.
