This story reads like a worse version of Twilight. A worse love triangle, worse Mary Sue protagonist, and worse plot. At least Twilight had villains. The main character Zade, is insufferable, and an obvious self-insert for the author. The plot is that she moves to Las Vegas and gets in a love triangle. That's it. That's really it.
The love triangle is between Clark Kent (his actual name) and someone who was secretly a member of the Plain White T's. They both are terribly written, and have no resolution.
A significant portion of the book is written from a the main character while in a coma, by stealing memories from those around her. Several little anecdotes about working in show-business are thrown in without relevance to anything. The prose reads like an unedited first draft cranked out by Tommy Wiseau on crack.
The author promotes this book as a New York Times Best Seller, a title that it held for less than a day after the publisher bulk purchased thousands of copies to manipulate the book's rating. This thing was a scam from start to finish. Don't waste your time!

Overall this story was unimpressive. It wasn’t necessarily bad- it just couldn’t captivate me. The writing style was very simple, and the story was very formulaic. Aaron’s entire life is completely changed, but he never really processes it- he just does as the plot demands. This book (e-book in my case) occupied me for a weekend, but it wasn’t all that enjoyable.
Classic batman. good to see it all begin. One of my favorite comics.
I loved this comic and the movie. Scott in the comic was less sympathetic- but was meant to be.
I think that Saul Alinsky is disingenuous when he represents the views of communities that he was never a part of. I laugh picturing him lecturing Black Panthers about “working within the system.” If a system is fundamentally opposed to your values and aggressively tries to disenfranchise you, how could you truly work within it? How could you hope to work within a system that strips you of your rights? Obviously radicals should try to build mass support for change, but that change should be precluded by the very institutions Alinsky tries to protect.
Working outside the established system is the only thing that has ever brought about real change. The system itself has a too slow an inertia to accept change. Society is on course for environmental catastrophe, mass starvation, and the impending nightmare of climate change. Sometimes radical action is necessary in the short term to prevent devastation in the long term.
I find his ideas about what is needed for a critical mass have been debunked by history. Small groups of people have always been the catalysts for major change.

Terrific start to the series. It is good just like the show.
