This series is great overall, and there is very important plot pieces near the end of this book, but the first 75% of this one is honestly hard to read. The majority of that first part is about Sera being held captive and abused by Kolis (the "villain" you could call him) and her really rambling through internal dialogue. After the first half I couldn't bring myself to do more than skim actual dialogue until she was finally free. I definitely don't recommend for anyone with abuse PTSD.
This is the second, and arguably one of the best, in this amazing series. The story is great. The world building and character development are top tier.
This is the first book of a truly amazing and captivating series. The story and world builds at the perfect pace to keep you hooked and wanting more!
