I have recently become a fan of Azrieli's writing after a friend recommended his writing to me. I appreciate the attention to detail, imagery, and historical facts that he puts into his writing. I am not big on politics so it is interesting to read and know that there is mainly truth to what I'm reading and I am not only enjoying the story but it has significant educational value too. Azrieli could benefit from editing his books more thoroughly as there were some spelling and grammatical errors, making it a little bit more difficult to read at times. As with his other novels, Azrieli wrote in a way that made me feel like I was part of the story and knew all of the characters. I could identify with them even though the story is vastly different from my reality. This is a great story and a talented writer!
Azrieli is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine as I first read The Jerusalem Inception and continued on to read The Jerusalem Assassin. The characters and story lines that he develops so thoroughly in the first story are carried over to this in a seamless transition. Azrieli uses language and history to support the events of the story and make the reader feel that they are really there. It is a fast paced and thrilling story that also showcases the humanity of the characters and what they endured during this time and conflict between the Israeli Muslims and Jews.
The Jerusalem Inception is a thoughtful and heartfelt piece of literature written by an author who obviously has a deep knowledge of that era. He has developed the characters so the reader feels that they know them and are empathetic to their stories. As many Holocaust books as there are out, this gave a somewhat different perspective as it jumped through time and moved quickly through the story. This was difficult to put down as it captivates the reader and leaves you wanting more and always eager to find out what happens next. I would definitely recommend this book.
